Public Policy Analysis

IMpulse Task 02

Objective:
The purpose of the task is to understand your perspective on effectively analysing impact of policy. Your
analysis should be grounded in feasibility, demonstrating critical and analytical thinking that is logical
rather than emotional. The analysis should be clear, practical, and well-structured, ensuring that the
proposed analysis is backed by data and rooted in research.

Task Overview:
Assess the impact of the government policy on the industries as allotted. Each group will analyze
the implications of assigned policy on various industries. They should consider:

• Operational Impact: How the policy affects day-to-day operations.


• Financial Impact: Changes in costs, revenues, or profitability.
• Strategic Impact: Long-term strategic decisions, market positioning, and competitiveness
• Compliance Requirements: Changes needed to comply with the policy.
• Opportunities and Threats: New opportunities created by the policy and potential threats.
Methodology:

• Identify the topic allotted.


• Read about the scheme and intended outcome.
• Analyse the industry for the impact it has created.
• Evaluate it’s performance. Identify possible shortcomings and reasons for the same

Submission Details:

• Team- To be performed in groups as allotted.


• Format- 3-4 slider presentations (excluding cover/thank you/annexure slides)
• Structure- Slide 1: Describe the selected field and the reason for the selection
▪ Slide 2: Policy Suggestions / Changes to Existing Policies
▪ Slide 3: Implementation Process
▪ Slide 4: Expected Impact and Challenges

Evaluation Criteria:
Submissions will be evaluated on the following non-exhaustive list of parameters-
1. Critical and Analytical Thinking while approaching the task

3. Uniqueness of suggestions
4. Feasibility and Viability of policy implementation
5. Presentation quality
6. Participation in the group
