Vedic Mathematics BASE METHOD MULTIPLICATIONS VI Class

Ø In this method, we multiply numbers which are close to ROUND FIGURE numbers Like 100, 10,
000, 100000 .......... so an
Example : 98 104 996 1005
× 96, × 102 × 995 × 1006 etc.
Example - 1 :
In this method we follow the following steps
Step - 1 : First we write the numbers vertically and keep the base number on the top of the numbers
100
98
× 94

Setp - 2 : We take deviations of the numbers comparing with the Base numbers

100
98 2 (98 is 2 less than 100)
× 94 6 (94 is 6 less than 100)

Step - 3 : Here, no need to multiply original numbers. It is enough to multiply the deviations

100
98 2
94 6

LEFT PART RIGHT PART

Note : The number of digits an the RIGHT PART of the answer should be equal to the numbrr of
ZEROES in Base number.
In the above example
Base numer 100 has 2 digits. So there should be 2 digits on the right side.

Example - 3 :
In this example, the right part answer 4 is single digit, now add “0” before number because the base
number 100 is having 2 zeroes, there must be 2 digits on the right side.

In this example
◆ Deviations are positive
◆ Multiply deviations for right part of answer.
