Learning aims:-to talk about clothes items
-to review and consolidate the use of to be and present tense continuous
-to learn new language structures
-to talk about birthday presents
-to improve students’ pronunciation and their ability of speaking English freely
Teaching techniques:conversation,explanation,exercise
Assumed knowledge:-Ss.are already familiar with the verb to be and the use of
present continuous
Anticipated problems:-some Ss may not be familiar with certain words
-some Ss may not remember previous vocabulary and grammar information
-some Ss may be shy to speak English.The T will encourage them to speak
English,if they remain silent,they are less likely to learn.The T will explain to them
that it is better for them to risk getting something wrong than not to say
anything.All learners need to experiment and make errors.
Time:50 minutes

PROCEDURE

Activity 1:Warm-up(2minutes)
Aim:to warm Ss up
Interaction:T-Ss,Ss-T
Procedure:T greets the Ss,asks if there are any absents then Ss are asked
questions about themselves,there is a chat between Ss and T,trying to create a
pleasant atmosphere for the lesson

Activity 2:Checking homework and previouse knowledge(4 minutes)


Aim: to check homework and to review previous information
Interaction:T-Ss,Ss-Ss
Procedure:Ss.are asked to present their homework,different Ss answer and
correct if necessary

Activity 3:Presenting the new lesson(2 minutes)


Aim:to introduce information related to the lesson and to get Ss involved
Interaction:T-Ss
Procedure: T writes on the board the title of the lesson, then tells Ss about the
activities of the lesson.

Activity 4:Speaking (5minutes)


Aim:-to express likes and dislikes related to clothes
Interaction:T-Ss,S-S
Procedure:Ss are asked to look at some pictures and talk about favourite items
they like to wear.They use present simple to express what they usually wear and
present continuous to express what they are wearing at the moment. Ss complete
the task

Activity 5:Watching a video/ speaking (10minutes)


Aim:- to develop Ss’ ability of comprehensing a text by ordering some sentences
and filling in with the appropriate words
Interaction:T-S,S-S
Procedure:Ss are asked to watch and listen to a short video then complete an
exercise from their textbook with the adequate words. It is a comprehension
exercise. Ss complete the task

Activity 6: Listening and Writing(15minutes)


Aim:-to practise the use of the verb to be and present tense continuous
Interaction:T-S,S-S
Procedure:T tell Ss that they are going to work on various exercises in order to
consolidate present tense continuous .Ss pay attention and note down the
exercises,then read them so that they could be sure they are correct. The
exercises contain all three forms of present continuous.

Activity 7:Reading, speaking (10minutes)


Aim:-to improve Ss’ reading and speaking skills
Interaction:T-S,S-S
Procedure:Ss are asked to read a text that is mostly about wearing clothes for
special occasions;they note down the new words and talk about the essence of
what they’ve just read. Ss complete the task.

Activity 8:Evaluation and homework(2minute)


Aim:-to evaluate Ss’ work
T evaluates Ss’ work, notes down the ones who were most active during the
lesson and gives them homework
