“Makati City Poised to be the Philippine’s Silicon

Valley”
In an initiative called Innovative Cities, the
Department of Trade and Industry, Board of
Investments (DTI-BOI) has partnered with the
private sector to tech up one Philippine city at a
time. It plans to link the local government units,
the academe, and the private sector in creating
multiple centres of excellence. At the onset, the
Innovation Centers Makati City City of Makati was chosen as the program’s pilot
in the collaboration setting the premier city up to
be the country’s homegrown version of Silicon
Valley — the global centre of high technology and
innovation in Northern California.

The Naga City Industrial Park is a registered
Special Economic Zone with the Philippine
Economic Zone Authority (PEZA). It primarily
caters to light manufacturing industries focused
on high-value engineering products destined for
export. Often referred to as Export Processing
Zone (EPZ), NCIP is the first of its kind in Naga and

Global City, Taguig city passes as one of the top 8
busiest cities in the Philippines. With a
population of 695,793 and an area of 53.67 sq.
kilometers, this city is home to top international
brands’ main offices and IT-BPO companies. It is
also home to SM Aura, one of the largest
shopping centers in the country and is thrived by
numerous foreigners and expats. Taguig city is
booming with top-of-the-line condominiums and
Headquarter City Taguig City residential townhouses such as Cedar
Crest, Cypress Towers, and Bonifacio Heights.
With Taguig City, another commercial hub,
Mckinley Hills is also crowded with professionals
during the day.
