Instructions

1. Assignment have to be handwritten, scan the handwritten documents to


a single pdf file and name it as your BITSID.pdf and upload the file in
CANVAS.
2. Assignments should be written in a NEAT and LEGIBILE handwriting.
Write your name and BITS ID in all pages of the documents. (Pages
without your name and ID will not be considered for evaluation.)
3. Left MARGINS must be clearly drawn.
4. Scans must be clear and should not be out of focus.
5. Avoid photographs of handwritten sheets and use only scanning.
6. Assignments sent via email would not be accepted.
7. Submissions beyond 23rd April -2024, 23.59 Hrs. would not be graded.
8. Q1 carries one mark and Q2 through Q7 carries 1.5 marks each.

Questions
Q3. Using Thevenin’s theorem to find the current through RL = 30  in the
circuit shown below.

Q4. Using Norton’s theorem, find the current through the load resistor RL = 5 
connected between the terminals A and B of the circuit shown below.
Q5. Determine the current in the 5Ω and 3Ω resistor for the circuit shown below
using mesh analysis.

Q6. Determine the voltages at the nodes 1, 2 and 3 in the below given circuit
using Nodal analysis. Also determine the current 𝐼𝑥 .

Q7. The switch in the circuit below has been closed for a long time and is opened
at t=0. Find the expression for v(t) for t > 0, voltage across the capacitor at t=0,
t=0.2s and t=1s.
