Sub: Operation of CC+8+2t/CC+6+2t trains.


Ref: i) Board’s letter no. 2007/CE-II/TS/8 dated 02.04.2009
ii) Board’s letter no. 2016/CE-II/TS/2(CC+8+2) dated 24.08.2018

Vide Board’s letter under reference (i) above, instructions for operation of
CC+8+2/CC+6+2 trains were issued. Certain modifications to Para 3.2.2.2 of above letter for
procedure to be followed for dealing with wagons overloaded beyond PCC+loading tolerance,
were issued vide reference (ii) above.
In order to overcome the crisis of supply of coal to power sector and mandate of
Railways to supply 415 rakes of domestic coal and another 25 rakes of imported coal, a high
level review was undertaken in Board on date 13.04.2022 and it has been decided to modify
the limits stipulated in Para 3.2.2.2 of above letter dated 24.08.2018, as below:

Above modification is applicable to coal rakes only and shall remain in force upto 31 st
May 2022.
