Practical 1: Consolidation

There are four sheets with same structure – quarterly results of


sales of a stationery shop.

Create a ‘Consolidated Summary’ sheet which will show total yearly sales sheet.

Create the following table ‘Bank’ in LibreOffice Calc

Use Subtotal feature to find the total amount of different Branches.

Practical 3 : Goal Seek


Q. A student is planning her goals about the marks she should attain in the forthcoming Semester
4 examinations in order to achieve a distinction (75%). Assuming that examination of each
subject is for 100 marks, her marks of the previous semesters are given as under.

Find out how many marks should she obtain in 4th semester to secure distinction.

Practical 4 : Record Changes and Add Comment
The following data is from the final result sheet of an educational institution. Answer the question that is followed under
the worksheet ‘SCHOOL MARKS’.

a. Increase the Total marks of each student by 3 marks. Apply the feature of record change to do so.
b. Add comment to display ‘Marks of English’ in place English, ‘‘Marks of Hindi’ in place Hindi, ‘Marks of Maths’ in
place Maths, ‘Marks of Science’ in place Science and ‘Percentage Marks’ in place Per%.

Practical 6: Create and use Template

Create a document that looks like a screenshot and save as a template. Follow the given instructions:

Practical Instructions:

• Apply page borders as displayed in the screenshot. Apply border colour as per your choice.

• Page orientation must be landscape.

• Give your desired formatting for school name, school address, and text written in the certificate.

• Save your file as a template and give the name certificate template.

• Attach the printout of Template.


Practical 7: Insert Image
Type the following paragraph in LibreOffice Writer and follow the given instructions:

Instructions:
1. Insert a computer picture from Gallery on left of the paragraph.
2. Resize the picture as it fits in your document.
4. Crop image to remove the unwanted part (if required)
5. Attach the printout of Template.
Practical 8: Apply Styles in the document

(i) Explain the styles given in the Styles and Formatting Window for LibreOffice writer and
paste the screen shot of the window also.
(ii) Write the steps to create new style in Open Office Writer.

Type the following contents on the different pages:

The modern-day computer has become an important part of our daily life. Also, their usage has
increased much fold during the last decade. Nowadays, they use the computer in every office
whether private or government. Mankind is using computers for over many decades now. Also,
they are used in many fields like agriculture, designing, machinery making, defense and many
more. Above all, they have revolutionized the whole world.

History of Computers
It is very difficult to find the exact origin of computers. But according to some experts computer
exists at the time of world war-II. Also, at that time they were used for keeping data. But, it was
for only government use and not for public use. Above all, in the beginning, the computer was a
very large and heavy machine.

Working of a Computer
The computer runs on a three-step cycle namely input, process, and output. Also, the computer
follows this cycle in every process it was asked to do. In simple words, the process can be
explained in this way. The data which we feed into the computer is input, the work CPU do is
process and the result which the computer give is output.

Components and Types of Computers
The simple computer basically consists of CPU, monitor, mouse, and keyboard. Also, there are
hundreds of other computer parts that can be attached to it. These other parts include a printer,
laser pen, scanner, etc.
The computer is categorized into many different types like supercomputers, mainframes,
personal computers (desktop), PDAs, laptop, etc. The mobile phone is also a type of computer
because it fulfils all the criteria of being a computer.

Add a blank page on top of the page. Now create a Table of Contents for the document.

Apply headings on the contents and create Index using the feature Table of Contents

Attach the printout of Template.

Practical 10: Make Presentation (8 to 10 slides) on one of the given


topics:
(i) Maintain Workplace Safety
(ii) Prevent Accidents and Emergencies at Workplace
(iii) Protect Health and Safety at Work
Practical 11: Create Table (Using Wizard), Form, Report and write Query

1. Create a database named “school.mdb” and perform the following tasks:


a. Create a table named “student info” having following table structure (Create table using a wizard).

b. Fill at least 5 records.


c. Prepare a query to display all records and Name should be in ascending order.
d. Prepare a query named “senior” to display records including fields name, class, sec, rollno, status,
photo and value of “status” field must be senior.
e. Prepare a form of above table “student info”.
f. Prepare a report of all the fields of above table.

Practical 12: Create Table (Using Design View), Form, Report and write Query
2. Create a database named “library.mdb” and perform the following tasks:
a. Create a table named “Book” having following structure (Create table using Design View).

b. Add at least 5 records.


c. Prepare a query to display only records including book name, writer name and
publication name. Save the query as “q_book”.
d. Prepare a query to display all records on the basis of price which is more than Rs500.
e. Prepare a form on the basis of table.
f. Prepare a report on the basis of query named "q_book”.

Practical 13: Create Table (using Design View), Enter Records and Sort Data

Amrita wants to create a directory containing data- Serial_No, Name, Mobile_No, Email_id, D_O_B of his
friends.
• Create a table using LibreOffice Base.
• Make Serial_No as primary key.
• Enter minimum 10 records in the table.
• Sort the table in alphabetical order of Name

Prakash lives in Happy Home Society. He wants to create a database to store and manage the maintenance
dues received from flat owners of the society. Create the following tables for his database.

Practical 15: Create Table, Form and write Query
Uzair manages a boys hostel in an engineering college. He wants to manage the records of the people
staying in his hostel by creating a database with the following tables and also set a relationship between
the tables.
