Georg Ohm

A Bavarian scientist who studied electricity.

Describe a unit of resistant that is defined by the
current and voltage.

Voltage
The amount of potential energy between two points
on a circuit.
One point has more charge than another.
This difference in charge between the two points is
called Voltage.
It is measure in Volts, which technically is the potential
energy between two points that will impart one joule
or energy per coulomb of charge that passes through
it.
Voltage is represented in equation and schematics by
the letter V. 2
Alessandro Volta

The unit "Volt" is named after him.

He invented what is considered the first
chemical battery.

Current

Group 2
Current

Current is measured in Amperes usually just referred

to as "Amps".
An ampere is defined as 6.241*10^18 electrons (1
coulombs) per second passing through a point in a
circuit.
Amps are represented in equation by the letter "I".
When electric charges continuously move in a process
knowns as "Current Electricity".

Resistance

is the opposition to the flow of electronics or current.

Ohm defines the unit of resistance of "1 Ohm" as the

resistance between two points in a conductor where
the ap p lication of 1 v o l t w i l l p u s h 1 a m p e r e o r
6.241x10^18 electrons.

This value is usually represented in schematics with

the Greek letter, which is called omega and
pronounced 'ohm'.
