T here are two types of gender in Sinhala, namely p\r[S lf^g (masculine) and s`t&F lf^g
(feminine) genders which have influence over the declensions of nouns / pronouns and
adjectives and inflections of verbs associated with them. A list of widely used masculine
nouns with their feminine counterpart is given below:
