    ABOUT BHAIKAKA UNIVERSITY
    Nearly five decades ago, Charutar Arogya Mandal was
    established as a ‘Venture of Faith’ by the late Dr. H. M.
    Patel, former Union Home and Finance Minister, with a vision
    to provide comprehensive and compassionate healthcare to
    all. This vision, "Solace for the Suffering," continues to
    inspire our efforts in healthcare and education. Bhaikaka
    University, established in October 2019 under the State
    Private University Act 2009, is situated on a lush green
    campus spanning 100 acres and is an integral part of
    Charutar Arogya Mandal. The Trust's mission, enshrined in
    its Constitution, is to make healthcare accessible and
    affordable for the people of Gujarat. Committed to
    excellence in education, healthcare innovation, and
    community service, Bhaikaka University reflects Dr. H. M.
    Patel's enduring legacy of compassion and service.

    ABOUT THE INSTITUTE OF NURSING SCIENCES


    The Institute of Nursing Science and Shri G H Patel School of Nursing,
    (Constituent Institute of Bhaikaka University) was established in 1980 with
    an initial intake of 25 students for the Diploma in Nursing. Over the years,
    the institute has expanded its programs, offering a degree in nursing since
    2014 and a Master's program in 2020, with specializations in Medical-
    Surgical Nursing, Child Health Nursing, and Obstetrical & Gynaecological
    Nursing. Clinical training is conducted at the NABH-accredited, 1,000-bed
    multi-specialty tertiary hospital, which serves as the teaching hospital for
    Bhaikaka University. This combination of academic excellence and hands-on
    experience equips students with the essential skills and ethical grounding
    to become highly competent healthcare professionals.

    ABOUT THE WEBINAR


    Palliative care has become increasingly essential in modern healthcare, addressing the complex needs of
    patients with serious illnesses. Aligned with the Semester 4 B.Sc. Nursing Adult Health Nursing II Palliative
    Care Module, the seminar aims to explore the possibilities of palliative care, addressing the challenges faced
    by caregivers and offering participants strategies to support them effectively. Ultimately, webinar empowers
    healthcare professionals to deliver care that is both medically sound and emotionally supportive, enhancing
    the overall well-being of patients and their families during difficult times.

    OBJECTIVES
    At the end of the seminar, the participants will be able to:
    Develop a comprehensive understanding of fundamental
    principles in palliative care, emphasizing holistic approaches to
    symptom assessment and management.
    Enhance communication skills to empathetically and effectively
    interact with patients and their families.
    Improve competency in performing essential nursing
    procedures specific to palliative care settings.
    Recognize ethical and legal considerations inherent in
    providing palliative care.
