The 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) were adopted by the United
Nations in 2015 as a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the
planet, and ensure that all people enjoy peace and prosperity by 2030. These
goals are essential for guiding research efforts to create a sustainable future.

1. No Poverty: End poverty everywhere by helping people have enough

money and support to live.
2. Zero Hunger: Make sure everyone has enough food and improve farming
so it’s sustainable.
3. Good Health and Well-being: Ensure everyone can access good
healthcare and live healthy lives.
4. Quality Education: Provide quality education to all, so everyone can
learn and succeed. 5. Gender Equality: Ensure that men and women have
equal rights and opportunities.
6. Clean Water and Sanitation: Make sure everyone has access to clean
water and proper toilets.
7. Affordable and Clean Energy: Use and develop clean energy sources
like solar and wind power.
8. Decent Work and Economic Growth: Create good jobs and support a
strong economy for all.
9. Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure: Build better infrastructure
(like roads and internet) and encourage innovation.
10. Reduced Inequality: Make sure that everyone is treated equally and
has the same opportunities, no matter their background.
11. Sustainable Cities and Communities: Make cities safe, inclusive, and
environmentally friendly.
12. Responsible Consumption and Production: Use resources wisely,
recycle more, and reduce waste.
13. Climate Action: Take urgent action to stop climate change and protect
the planet.
14. Life Below Water: Protect oceans and marine life from pollution and
overfishing.
15. Life on Land: Protect forests, fight deforestation, and preserve
biodiversity on land.
16. Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions: Promote peaceful societies
with justice and strong institutions that work for everyone.
17. Partnerships for the Goals: Work together globally to achieve all these
goals.
