MATLAB 2016a Installation Instructions for OU Students

• The student version requires you to be online to check


• Create a MathWorks Account using your OU email:
https://www.mathworks.com/mwaccount/register
• Next, login to the MathWorks License Center:
https://www.mathworks.com/accesslogin/login.do?uri=%2Flicensecenter%2F
• Click the Associate License button in the upper right hand corner.
• Enter the following Activation Key: 12347-79186-66647-23391-05886
• To download your software:
http://www.mathworks.com/downloads/web_downloads/select_release
• In the MathWorks installer, select Log in with a MathWorks Account and follow the online
instructions.
• Select the toolboxes you want to install (see the full list of toolboxes below). If you select all of
them it will be a 640 MB install.
• Matlab 2016a toolboxes available

• After downloading and installing your products, keep the Activate MATLAB checkbox selected
and click Next.
• When asked to provide a user name, verify that the displayed user name is correct. Continue with
the process until activation is complete.
• Answer questions on where to install the program and then click on Install.
• After this you are done, but it is hard to find the program so search for it. Below shows how you
can search for Matlab 2016 in Windows 10. Click on the program and it will open.
• The following screen should appear. Use the menu structure to view the command window
or create a new script.

• If you have a laptop with a high resolution like the Dell XPS 13 you might see tiny font like
shown in the figure below.

• To increase the font size go to the Home menu and click on preferences and then select font
and change it to your preferred setting. See below:
