RESOURCE GUIDE

SPLUNK CORE USER CERTIFICATION PROCESS

After reading this document, you’ll know how to:


● Create an account with Pearson Vue Splunk
● Complete the voucher process for a Splunk Core User
Voucher

CREATING YOUR ACCOUNT


We are going to start by connecting your accounts then we will be
able to register for exam delivery.
NOTE: It is very important that you enter your legal name, city and state of residence
exactly as they appear on your government-issued ID. If there are any discrepancies
between the information provided and the ID presented, we cannot guarantee your exam
registration.

If this is your first time taking a Splunk certification exam with


Pearson VUE,
please click here to fill out the form to connect your Splunk
account to the
Pearson VUE platform* (you may be redirected to log into your
Splunk.com
account, if you are not currently logged in).

Please note: You will first be prompted to sign-in to your


Splunk.com
account or to create a new Splunk.com account if you don't
already have
one.

You’ll be redirected to STEP, our new Splunk education site, which


will
then redirect you to register through the Pearson VUE site.

If you have already completed this step and have not received
your
authorization to test emails, please contact
[email protected] for
assistance.
Once you have received your Splunk ID it's now time to register
with Pearson Vue. Go to home.pearsonvue.com/splunk to create
an account. Please note this is different than your CompTIA
Account.

This process may take up to two business days. If you still have
not received your emails, which come from
[email protected], please contact
[email protected] for assistance.

You may receive multiple Authorization to Test emails, but can


use the links in any
of the emails to access your Pearson VUE account.
Once you have entered your first and last name as well as the
Splunk ID you now need to review the Pearson VUE privacy policy
and agree to the terms and conditions.

The next step is to create a web account. You will need to create a
user name and a password for this step. You will also need to
create three security questions in case you forget your password
in the future.

Once that is completed you can now schedule an exam.

SCHEDULING YOUR EXAM


Please note this step should be completed with your instructor 1-1
or in a breakout room in zoom.
It is recommended that you test at a test center. If you decide to
test online with Pearson OnVUE you are required to adhere to the
online testing policy. Any vouchers lost due to violation of those
policies will not receive a replacement voucher.

Once you have scheduled your exam you will receive a


registration confirmation email from Pearson VUE.

Please read this email carefully, as it provides important


information regarding rescheduling, cancellation, etc. Splunk
Certification cannot modify, cancel, or reschedule existing exam
appointments. Please work with Pearson VUE support for these
types of requests.

IMPORTANT: When you sit for your certification exam, you will
have 3 minutes to review and accept the Splunk Certification
Agreement. Exam sessions will be terminated if this is not
accepted within the designated time-frame. You can review the
agreement at your convenience.
