1. Introduction to Micro Project:

In the existing system if any person wants to travel somewhere by flight he should take some basic
steps to get ticket like he should go to airport to book the flight ticket, he should speak with Airline
help center regarding the availability of flights. It is time consuming process.

The purpose of the present Airline Management System is to allow customer to interact that gives some
basic information such as all flights information, availability of accommodation in flights, ticket
booking, class type like luxury/ super luxury/ special/ AC/ non AC

2. Aim of the Micro Project:

“Airline Management System” main aim is to provide the online ticket & seat reservation

3. Course Outcomes Addressed:

a) Develop a program using Object Oriented methodology in Java.

4. Proposed Methodology:

• First, we can select the topics are suitable in our syllabus and select the Micro Project.

• Next, we discuss in Group Member and search the information according to the
MicroProject.
• Collect the Basic information about the Micro Project.

• Next we discuss the micro project with our guidance. They help for making project.

• Collect the more information from internet and MSBTE books.

• Then prepared Softcopy of the micro project.

• The word file was checked by the subject teacher.

• Then some corrections are required and again Softcopy of report checked by the
teacher.
• Prepare hard copy of the micro project Report

• Hard copy checked by Subject Teacher.

PART B
MICRO PROJECT
Airline Management System

1. Rationale:
An Airline Management System is a powerful tool that allows airlines to sell their inventory, manage
their schedules, and track their passengers. It is a vast database of information that includes flight
schedules, fares, seat availability, and passenger reservations. Airline reservation systems also allow
passengers to book their tickets online, track their flights, and make changes to their reservations.

Airline Management System are software solutions that streamline the process of booking and
managing airline tickets. They offer a user-friendly interface for travelers to browse flight options,
select seats, make reservations, and pay for tickets securely. These systems also help airlines to
improve operational efficiency by optimizing seat utilization, flight scheduling, and resource
allocation. By integrating real-time flight information, passenger preferences, and payment gateways,
airline reservation systems create a seamless and convenient booking experience for travelers while
empowering airlines to effectively manage their services.

2. Aim of Micro Project:

“Airline Management System” main aim is to provide the online ticket & seat reservation

3.Course Outcomes Achieved:

a) Develop a program using Object Oriented methodology in Java.

4
4.Literature Review:

The objective of the project is to design and implement the software which helps the Airline System
employees to issue reservation tickets for various Air flights and maintain the records of various
passengers and provide quick services to the passengers.

Airline reservation systems incorporate airline schedules, passenger reservations and ticket records.
An airline's direct distribution works within their own reservation system, as well as pushing out
information to the GDS. The second type of direct distribution channel are consumers who use the
internet or mobile applications to make their own reservations. Travel agencies and other indirect
distribution channels access the same GDS as those accessed by the airline reservation systems, and
all messaging is transmitted by a standardized messaging system that functions on two types of
messaging that transmit on SITA's high-level network (HLN). These messaging types are called
Type A [usually EDIFACT format] for real time interactive communication and Type B [TTY] for
informational and booking type of messages. Message construction standards set by IATA and
ICAO, are global, and apply to more than air transportation. Since airline reservation systems are
business critical applications, and they are functionally quite complex, the operation of an in-house
airline reservation system is relatively expensive.

10. Conclusion:

Airline Management System are essential tools that have revolutionized the way air travel is
planned and enforced. They offer a convenient and efficient way for customers to search, select, and
reserve flights while providing administrators with the control they need to manage flight schedules,
pricing, and user data. These systems have made air travel more accessible and affordable for
travelers around the world, and they continue to evolve to meet the needs of a growing and changing
industry.
