INTRODUCTION
A series circuit is a circuit that only has one path way for a current to flow. The loads are
connected end to end, to create a close path way for the current to flow once the switch is
closed.
A parallel circuit is a circuit that provides more than one path ways for a current to flow.

RELEVANT THEORY
3
Ohm’s law states that the direct current flowing in a circuit is directly proportional to the
voltage across or applied to the circuit. Resistance is inversely proportional to the voltage and
current.
Kirchhoff Voltage Law states that the sum of the voltage differences around any closed loop
Kirchhoff Current Law states that the current current entering a junction is equal to the current
leaving a junction.

RESULTS
SERIES CIRCUIT
The series circuit voltage source is 12V. Voltages drop 1 and 2 are both 6v because in a series
circuit voltage are shared. The current total is o.417A as well as I1 and I2 because in a series circuit
PARALLEL CIRCUIT
The parallel circuit voltages source is 12v and as for V1 and V2 because in a parallel circuit the
voltages remain constant. The current total is 0.1667A but I1 and 12 are different and are shared in a
6
parallel circuit.
OBSERVATION
It was observed that in a series circuit the loads were connected and the same current
flowing through each loads and the same current flowing through each loads And flow
back to the source. The voltage drops that were measured across L1, and L2 was 6 volts. In
the parallel circuit, the loads are connected across the voltage source so that each loads has
its own separate current.

CONCLUSIONS
Based on what was observed in the lab, It was found that in a series circuit it has he same amount
of current 0.417A flowing through load 1, and load 2. When a load is removed the total current
0.417A will stop flowing through the circuit thus the circuit becomes an open circuit. In a parallel
circuit each loads has its same voltage 12V has the voltage is constant, and the current is shared
among each loads in the circuit
