A Few Things to Check before Installation

Thank you for ordering your new card payment point-of-sale. To ensure the installation of your terminal goes
smoothly please review and complete this checklist to minimize disruption to your business. In advance of your
installation meeting please ensure that the below pre requisites are ready. If there are additional departments,
such as IT, within your organisation that may be required to action this, please pass this information to them.
If you need additional installations such as Smartlink, which would enable your terminal to be connected to your
till, there are some additional requirements that must be available as detailed below.
It’s important that you take the time to review this checklist thoroughly to ensure an engineer can
complete your installation.

For all counter-top and portable devices that will connect over the internet:
When data is sent or received over the internet, it is sent to an IP (Internet Protocol) address and a specific port.
Please confirm with your internet provider that the ports listed below are open and the necessary IP addresses
are allowed through your network. It is likely these will be allowed unless effort has been made to restrict access
to certain addresses.

A list of the necessary ports and IP addresses are shown in the tables below.

For Customers using DHCP - ensure a correct DNS1 & DNS2 address is passed from the router/DHCP server. It
is recommended that DNS1 & DNS2 are populated.

For Customers using Static IP -The following details are required: Static IP address, IP Gateway, Subnet Details
and DNS address. 2 DNS server addresses need to be provided to the Engineer. If a secondary DNS address is
not known, a public DNS can be used.

Firewall configuration needs to include a DNS address access. The MAC address of the terminal can be
provided by the engineer at the time of installation if required for Firewall Configuration.

For Smartlink installations, till and terminal also need to communicate together via 6 different ports. Firewall
rules must ensure these ports are not blocked. The 6 additional ports are detailed at the bottom of the table
below.
