Complete this excerpt from a presentation with the following words: let’s talk
about, draw your attention, have a look, it’s quite remarkable, on the other
hand, the figures also show that, you’ll see, can we explain

I’d now like to (1) to the regions where poverty has been reduced. If you

How to describe pie chart? Complete the gaps with the following words:
account, amount, attention, divided, see, shown, surprised, total

This pie chart shows our total health spending for the last year and how it is
(1) among the various health sector areas. Let’s begin with the biggest area,
which is (2) in green. We can (3) that 31% of our total health spending went
into hospital care last year. The second biggest area with a (4) of 23% is
“other spending” – that’s the red segment heare. It includes dental services
and home health care. I think you’ll be (5) to see that nearly the same (6) –
that’s 22% - was spent on doctors and clinical services. This was mainly
because of the increase in medical technology costs. I’d now like to draw
your (7) to the prescription drugs which (8) for 10% of our total costs.

• We use the past simple to talk about movement or trend which happened
in the past and is now finished. Signal words: last month / year, in January,
from 2019 – 2024, during the Covid – 19 pandemic etc.

• We use the present perfect to talk about movement or trend which


started in the past but is not yet finished. Signal words: since, for, this
month/year, or expression with over (over the past six months) etc.
3. HOW TO USE VISUAL AIDS?

Use adjective or adverbs to emphasize the trend or movement.

E.g.

- There was a sudden increase in prices.

- In August, we notice a moderate fall.

- This was followed by a gradual decline.

- Sales increased slightly in summer.

- Over the past two years the number has dropped significanly.

- Last month the rates rose sharply.

Complete the sentences with the correct form of the verb / adverb
combination in the box.

Complete the presentation extract with the correct prepositions: around; at;
between; by; from; in; of; to; until

The graph shows our online sales figures for the EU market (1) 2006. In the
first quarter, online sales averaged (2) 50,000 and 52,000 euros. In April,
sales increased (3) 61,000 euros and remained steady (4) the end of the
second quarter. In the third quarter we notice a shard rise (5) 61,000 to
