    Time allowed: 2 Hours Maximum Marks: 100

    This exam paper consists of TWO questions


    Candidates should attempt ALL TWO questions
    USE OF PRIVATE COMPUTERS IS PERMITTED

    Question One [ETABS]:

    1. Using ETABS finite element software, construct an FEM model for the truss shown
    in Figure 1. The applied loads, boundary conditions, and elements dimensions are
    indicated in the Figure. Ignoring the self-weight of the truss ,determine the support
    reactions and elements internal forces.

    Question Two:[AutoCAD]

    1. Figure 2 illustrates a bottom reinforcement in a residential building. After completion


    of the design, the structural drawing was plotted as shown. Using AutoCAD software
    re draw the reinforcement layout for the construction purposes.
    Note: all columns are 0.5 by 0.25 m.
