Ch-2- AI Project Cycle

(Part-1:Problem Scoping)

Class-X
Project Cycle

Project Cycle is a guideline that help to

Complete the PROJECT in a Manner from
Planning/Initiation, Organising, Execution,
Finish etc.

It consists of Several Simple Steps when

followed, completes the PROJECT.
AI Project Cycle

AI Project Cycle Consists of 5-STAGES

It becomes cyclic after Evaluation Stage
or in Machine Learning stage.
 Various stages are given as:
Stages of AI Project Cycle
Contd...
1. Problem Scoping: (1st Stage)
• To identify and understand the PROBLEM
and have the vision to SOLVE it using AI
Technology.
2. Data Acquisition: (2nd Stage)
• The objective is to COLLECT data for the
project. The data must be Authentic,
Reliable and Accurate.
Contd...
3. Data Exploration: (3rd Stage)
• At this stage we explore about data Patterns
followed, Trends needed for the Project.

• We use Graphical & Statistical methods for

data comparison and analysis purpose.

4. Modelling:(4th Stage)
• We choose a Suitable Model(S) based on
above stage of Data & Algorithm
(Existing/New).
Contd...
5. Evaluation:(5th Stage)

• At this Stage it is Tested for its ACCURACY.

(Say 60-70%) with help of combination of
old and new data.

• Finally we select a Model that provides

MOST EFFICIENT & RELLIABLE result. (Say
>=95%)
Details Of AI Project Cycle
1. Problem Scoping:

A problem may be Small/Big,

Simple/Complicated, or one out of 17
SDGs. The basic objective of First Stage is
to find Problem Statement.
For this we use 4W’s Problem Canvas.
Objective: This Problem Statement, can
be used in the Project Work & for Future
Reference.
4W’s Canvas Problem (Who,
What, Where, Why)
 Who Block
Q. Who are the Stakeholders?
(Persons involved directly or indirectly in
the Project)
Q. What do you know about them?
(Information about stakeholders)
Contd...
 What Block
Q. What is the problem?
(Exact Need/Issues/Type of problem)
Q. How do you know that, it is a problem?
(Evidence/ News Paper/ Print Media/
Electronic Media / Surveys etc.)
Contd...
 Where Block
Q. What is the context/situation they are
experiencing the problem?
(Any reason that is why the problem
arises)
Q. Where is the problem prominent/
located?
(Area of problem/location)
Contd...
 Why Block
Q. Why will the solution be of value to
stakeholders?
(Benefit to stakeholders)
Q. How will it improve their situation?
(The benefit to society if solved)
 Now we can obtain Problem Statement
from above steps.
