Planning and organizing at a supervisory level involves defining plans, understanding their
importance, and knowing the roles and responsibilities of supervisors. Here are some other
aspects of planning and organizing at a supervisory level:

Planning process

Planning is a multi-step process that involves environmental scanning, forecasting, establishing


objectives, identifying courses of action, and evaluating alternatives.

❖ INTRODUCTION

Planning and Organizing - Supervisor's basic role is to plan the daily work schedule of the
workers by guiding them the nature of their work. He divides the work amongst the
workers as per their skills, knowledge, interests and aptitudes.

Planning and scheduling are essential
Supervisors can use planning and scheduling to manage their time, resources, and tasks
effectively. However, it can be challenging to create a realistic schedule, especially when
there are multiple projects, deadlines, and stakeholders.
Supervisors should be technically and professionally competent
Supervisors need to be able to make decisions and solve problems. They should have
enough expertise to earn the respect of their subordinates.

Supervisory program
This program should be planned through collaboration, documented in writing, and
approved. It should consider factors such as objectives, controls, delegation,
communications, methods and procedures, use of resources, time, and manpower.
Delegate and empower your team
Supervisors can't do everything by themselves, and they shouldn't. They can delegate
tasks to their team of talented and capable people.
