Anchor: Guo runs for mayor amidst multiple serious crime allegations. Here’s Ira Reginaldo Reporting
Reporter 2: On October 8, during a Senate hearing, Alice Guo announced that she would not be
running for reelection in 2025. This decision comes as she faces serious legal issues, including human
trafficking charges related to her involvement with two Philippine offshore gaming operators, or POGOs:
Hongsheng Gaming Incorporated and Zun Yuan Technology Incorporated.
Currently detained at the Pasig City Jail, Guo, explained her choice to step back from the political
arena, emphasizing her need to address the accusations against her before considering a return to
public office.
Guo is not only facing human trafficking charges but also several other serious allegations, including
graft, tax evasion, and money laundering.
The ongoing legal battles of Alice Guo and the discussions around electoral integrity raise critical
questions about the future of political leadership in the Philippines.
I’m Ira Reginaldo your reporter for truth on the nation.
Anchor: Iran has fired hundreds of missiles at Israel for more updates here’s Vjay Cabusora reporting.
Reporter 3: US and Israeli officials reported minimal damage in Israel following Iranian drone and
missile strikes. A senior US military official indicated that the attacks primarily affected the Nevatim
airbase and a road in the Hermon region. Israeli military spokesperson Daniel Hagari confirmed that the
Iron Dome intercepted 99% of the approximately 350 projectiles launched by Iran and its allies,
ensuring the Nevatim airbase remains fully operational.
The attacks highlight ongoing tensions between Israel and Iran, with the sheer volume of projectiles
indicating Iran's growing military capabilities. The US condemned the attacks as a destabilizing action,
and international actors have expressed concern. The effectiveness of Israel's defense systems
underscores a strong deterrent against further aggression.
