the industry/field/country.
o The proposal should identify and discuss the specific needs/problems to be
addressed.
o The proponent should have a clear understanding of the needs/problems.
o Is it just a perceived need or an observed need based on consultations?
o Do needs link to business opportunities?
o Target market or beneficiaries (size, growth, players, segments)?
• The research must also include compelling solutions.
o What is the proposed solution?
o Would it satisfy important needs?
o How would it satisfy the needs?
o Could it solve the entire problem, or would it address a critical part?
o What are the limitations?
o Present the solution in a form that could be visualized graphics, mock-ups,
and frameworks.
• Technologies from the research proposal must be differentiated from the
current/available technologies.
o Compared with competitive or substitute solutions/technology, what is the
differentiation of what is being proposed?
o What are its advantages?
o Its Unique features?
o Can this differentiation create greater value than that of existing?
o Can it reduce cost? Increase efficiency, provide better performance?
o Can it result in special skills or exceptional services?
o Can it provide new information?
o Can it be a technology or an invention comprising of new designs,
approaches; and use of new materials?
o Can they be protected or protectable by patents, copyrights, and
trademarks?
• Benefits from the research proposal must also be taken into consideration.
o What are the benefits that can be perceived/received after using the
solution?
o Quantify the benefits if possible.
o What would be its impact on the target market/beneficiaries?
Major Activities
• Enumerate the components/major activities of the project and its brief description.
Expected Output
• Indicate the specific products, processes, or services that the project is expected to
produce and how these can be used; quantify when possible.
Note: Write-ups must be supported with appropriate literature and proper citations. Limit to
