3. Two shells are joined dorsally by hinge ligaments.

4. Triangular foot for locomotion.

5. Umbo is whitish knob like at anterior end of shell.

6. Line of growth are present on shell.

7. Adductor muscles help to CLOSE shells.

8. Abductor muscles help to OPEN shells.

9. Retractor muscles are help to pull & push the foot.

10. Unisexual (male & female separate).

11. Pearl culture (Pearl Farming)

6. Foot (for creeping) is flat & at ventral side.

7. Visceral mass is coiled like shell.

8. Columella (Column like) called also central axis.

9. Apex is smallest & oldest part of shell.

10. Remaining is body whorl of shell.

6. Suckers used for attachment.

7. It can move from small holes of ships / boats due to

lack of bone & folding of body.

7. Tube feet arise from each side of ambulacral canal.

8. Calcareous plates / ossicles covered body.

9. Scutes present on aboral (dorsal) surface.

10. At the tip of each arm eye spot present
