(“I” Scheme Curriculum)

1
PART A – Micro-Project Proposal
Title of Micro-Project: “Working Network Structure of Educational

Institution (Government Polytechnic Gondia)”

1.0 Rational:
This microproject examines the network architecture of an educational
institution by implementing key networking protocols: OSPF, DHCP, FTP, SSH,
and Telnet. OSPF (Open Shortest Path First) optimizes dynamic routing across
multiple subnets, ensuring efficient data packet traversal. DHCP (Dynamic Host
Configuration Protocol) automates the assignment of IP addresses to various
endpoint devices, streamlining IP management. FTP (File Transfer Protocol)
enables the efficient transfer and management of digital resources, such as course
materials and student submissions. SSH (Secure Shell) provides encrypted
remote access and management capabilities for network devices, safeguarding
sensitive data. Telnet facilitates remote command-line interface access for
administrative tasks in controlled environments. Together, these protocols
underscore the significance of network security, operational efficiency, and
resource management in contemporary educational networks, equipping
participants with practical insights applicable to IT and network administration.

2.0 Literature survey:

This literature survey provides a comprehensive overview of critical resources
pertinent to the microproject on the network architecture of educational
institutions, focusing on vital networking protocols including OSPF, DHCP,
FTP, SSH, and Telnet. Key texts such as Kurose and Ross's Computer
Networking offer foundational insights into network design principles, while
Perkins's examination of routing protocols underscores the advantages of OSPF
in dynamic and large-scale environments. Droms's RFC on DHCP delineates its
functionality in automating IP address allocation, essential for networks with
high device density. Garfinkel and Spafford analyze FTP's role in efficient
resource sharing within educational contexts, addressing associated security
vulnerabilities. Ylonen's work on SSH provides a thorough understanding of
secure communication protocols for the management of sensitive information,
contrasting with Telnet as described in its RFC specification. Additionally,
Campbell and Toner explore the unique security challenges faced by educational
institutions, emphasizing the necessity for robust security frameworks, while
Wankhade and Mhaske present practical case studies that illustrate the effective
implementation of these protocols. Together, these resources highlight the

critical importance of efficient network design, security, and resource
management in contemporary educational networking environments.

3.0 Proposed Methodology

1. In this microproject, first of all we have focused on selection of appropriate

topic for micro-project.
2. Select the topic Generations of Working Network Structure of Educational
Institution
3. Then we started with our brief study as well as a survey on our topic.
4. Then we gathered all information based on the topic of microproject.
5. We have done analysis and study of our topic in detail.
6. Following all the above methodologies we successfully completed with our
microproject.
