Question: - Elucidate with examples role of media in development of a nation

Answer: - The media plays a crucial role in the development of a nation by informing the
public, promoting democracy, countering extremism and influencing cultural values.
However, this influence comes with significant responsibility. Media outlets must prioritize
accuracy and integrity over sensationalism and commercial interests to truly contribute
national development, by doing so media can be a force for positive change driving societal
progress.
The role of media in the development of a nation is multifaceted and powerful, influencing
societal norms, shaping public opinion, and serving as a platform for dialogue and
democracy. The media acts as a mirror reflecting the intellectual, moral, and social standards
of a nation, and with this reflection comes a significant responsibility for those who own and
operate media outlets.
One of the primary roles of media in national development is to provide information that
educates the public about national and international issues. For instance, media coverage on
economic developments can inform citizens about governmental policies, enabling them to
make informed decisions. By highlighting economic challenges and opportunities, media can
drive discourse on necessary reforms and policies, pressuring the government to act in the

media outlets have a responsibility to produce content that is not only entertaining but also
educative and reflective of the society's values and aspirations

global attention to the Kashmir issue, challenging India's narrative and highlighting human
