SJAI’s HIGHSCHOOL BALL 2023

EMCEES’ SCRIPT

We are requesting everyone to please line up at the main entrance and get
ready because we are about to commence the program.

I. INTRODUCTION
Fernan: In the world where knowledge is a powerful tool, and brain has
been our source of progression, let us rest our mind and let our hearts talk as
we welcome you to SJAII’s Highschool Ball: “A Night to Remember”.
Fernan: Good evening ladies and gentlemen! Good evening, partner.
Genelyn: Good evening, Sir! You look so handsome today.
Fernan: Thanks and I can return the favor to you right away for you look so
gorgeous in time for this occasion.
Genelyn: Well, there are a hundred and one reasons of getting dressed up
elegantly and ravishingly today.
Fernan: You bet, partner. Today is one of the highlights of high school life in
the pantheon of social graces and gregariousness!
Both: Welcome to SJAII’s Highschool Ball: “A Night to Remember”!

II. GRAND ENTRANCE

Fernan: The much awaited social gathering of our students as they poised
for take-off to the world of fashion, fad, and craze!
Fernan: And without further ado… to kick off the ball rolling, let’s paint the
town red and roll out the red carpet for the grand entrance as our students
and staff take the walk of fame.
Let us all welcome the entrance of the highly renowned School
Administrators.

Mr. Elmer A. Cordoba – School President

Mrs. Gina M. Cordoba – School Directress
Mrs. Mildred C. Santiago – Vice President

Followed by the high caliber teaching staff of St. James Academy of Iguig,
Inc. supervised by our department heads: Mrs. Maria Veronica S. Baralin and
Mr. Mark Virgil C. Santiago.

Let’s give them a resounding applause.

And now, we proceed with the main characters of tonight’s affair:

------STUDENTS------

Genelyn: And… that wraps up the so-called SJAII’s version of “Walk of

Fame”. You all look so hip and fabulous tonight.
Fernan: And to formally commence this event, please rise and feel a few
moments of solemnity for an invocation to be led by Ms. Jasmine Bangayan.
-----PRAYER------
Fernan: Please remain standing and imbibe among ourselves the virtue of
nationalism and patriotism through the singing of the Philippine national
anthem.
-----PHILIPPINE NATIONAL ANTHEM------

III. OPENING REMARKS

Genelyn: You may now be seated.
Seeing everyone wearing formal attires and gowns and not their usual
uniforms is such a refreshing sight. And I bet you are all excited to dance
with your friends, crushes, and to have fun tonight. For sure all of you even
our teachers have spent time, treasure and energy for this wonderful event.
Fernan: To officially start our program, let’s all listen to the welcome
message of our High School Principal, Mr. Mark Virgil C. Santiago. Let us give
him a resounding applause!
-----OPENING REMARKS-----
Fernan: Thank you very much, sir, for that uplifting message.
High school life is a roller coaster ride. It is the period of exploring the
unknown, a time of shaping one’s true identity and the stage of building
bonds and friendships. This evening, another milestone is about to unfold in
our lives as we take part in one of the most awaited moment in high school.

IV. TURN OVER CEREMONY

Genelyn: Every prom signifies the celebration of awards and achievements
of our senior students and these legacies should be handed over to the
deserving and trustworthy inheritors.
Aside from that, all the scholastic emblems held by seniors for one school
year should be bequeathed to their honorable recipients- those symbols of
academic victories, co-curricular triumphs and team-building upheavals.
Fernan: As a tradition of turning over the responsibility to the incoming
seniors, the present Grade 10 are going to hand over emblems that would
resemble knowledge, leadership, and loyalty. May we call in the Supreme
Student Government officers headed by Ms. Krystel Bermudez to lead us in
the turn-over of emblems or formal bequeathal ceremony to the next batch.
------KEY OF RESPONSIBILITY-----
(KRYSTEL’S SPEECH)
Fernan: And such odyssey of service and leadership is about to end… to
turn the hourglass upside down for the new breed of student-leaders in the
service of the Jamenians. And to make it happen, may we hand in the
microphone to the predecessor and successor of SJAII’s leadership by
example, let us all welcome Ms. Jayzely Mae Tumanguil, Grade 9 Class
President.
(JAZE’S SPEECH)

V. CANDLE-LIGHTING CEREMONY
Genelyn: Once again, let us give them a big hand! To SJAII’s empowered
student body!
We’re more than just halfway for this turnover stuff. No prom is considered
memorable in the absence of Candle-Lighting Ceremony. We would like to
call once again Ms. Krystel Bermudez and the president of each class to lead
us in the ceremony.
------CANDLE-LIGHTING CEREMONY-----
Genelyn: A candle signifies hope. Despite anything, there is always hope for
everything. You can never lose hope as long as you have the courage you’ll
win. Just always believe in yourselves.
We hope that the candles we light today leave a lasting remembrance. May
the light from these candles guide you straight to paths in fulfilling your
responsibilities, ambitions, and dreams. May they always remind you of the
legacy we hope to leave behind.
With these candles, we hope that you will keep alive the things we have
taught you. May you all have a brighter and fulfilling years ahead.
Fernan: The flame atop of every paraffin elucidates the road to success of the
outgoing seniors in the next chapter of their academic career. Thank you so
much dear students. I am keeping my fingers crossed that every chosen field
to be undertaken will be successful in the near future.

Genelyn: In every memorable moment of one’s life, there are always songs
that will embody inferred emotions. With a round of applause, let us once
again welcome our students for their song number.
-----SINGING OF WE’RE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER-----
Fernan: Thank you very much students. Indeed, we are all in this together-
in whatever circumstances it may be.

VI. COTILLION DE HONOR

Genelyn: One of the most awaited parts of this event is the traditional
cotillion de honor that serves as the prelude to the dancing portion of the
prom.
At this very moment, let us all witness the elegant and dazzling students and
teachers as they perform their cotillion dance. Let’s give them a big hand
with grace and poise!
------COTILLION DE HONOR-----
Fernan: That was an overpowering dance performance. Indeed, it seems
that all of us are marveled by the performance of our students. Once again,
let us give them a round of applause.

VII. DINNER
Genelyn: At this point in time, I am quite sure that everyone is excited to
get the taste of luscious and sumptuous food to be served for dinner. My we
call in Ms. Gaylyn Villanueva for the prayer.
So we are now declaring that “It’s Eating Time!”
Let’s enjoy the food in observance of the table etiquette as usual. Happy
Dinner, everyone!
------DINNER-----
Fernan: Good evening once again! Is the food great? Seemingly, everyone
enjoys taking dinner so as to be all-set for the next part of the program.

VIII. FIRST DANCE

Fernan: I am kinda dead-eager to the next part of the program. Young
ladies and gentlemen, let’s be in the know about our first dance partners for
this evening.
You can now pick your partner and grace tonight’s affair.
-----FIRST DANCE-----

Fernan: The scene a while ago really brought back memories of my high
