1 Purpose
The purpose of this document is to give a clear instruction on how to activate MFA via web browser and MS
Authentication app to all users within Gunnebo domain.

2 Instructions
• Install Microsoft Authenticator app from (App Store or Google play store) on the smart phone.
• If open, start by closing the Outlook client on your computer
• Browse to https://aka.ms/MFASetup with browser of choice and sign in with Gunnebo mail & password

• “More information required” will appear, select Next

• In “Additional security verification“ prompt select “Mobile app” in dropdown menu and “Receive notifications
for verification” as value.

• Click on Set Up to proceed


• If the user does not have smart phone, use SMS for authentication by providing the SMS option in
“How should we contact you section”.

• QR Code will appear and the mobile app is ready for configuration.

• With the QR code on browser screen go to your smart phone and open Microsoft Authenticator.

• In the Microsoft Authenticator app, “Add an account” and choose “Work or school account.
• Scan the image shown in your browser.

• After scanning QR code go back to your browser and select Next.

• Select Next one more time and go back to Microsoft Authenticator app on the smart phone.

• Step 2 in security verification will try to contact mobile device.

• Open MS Authenticator app on the smart phone and select Approve.

• When approved go back to your browser, check that your mobile phone is correct and select Done.

• Close the web browser and start Outlook client on your PC client

• First time you start the Outlook client you will be prompted for password. Enter your password and Sign in.

• MS Authenticator app on your smart phone is waiting for approval, Select Approve.

• Confirm that Outlook client is connected to Microsoft Exchange.


• MFA is now enabled.
