Guidelines for Campus Case Study Assessment
To ensure a smooth and effective approach to the campus case study assessment, please
follow the guidelines below. These steps will help you understand how to approach, analyse,
and complete the case study successfully.
1. Understand the Problem Statement
• Carefully read the case study: Ensure you understand the problem, its context, and
what is being asked.
• Clarify objectives: Identify the key goals you are expected to address in the case
study (e.g., providing a solution, analysing a situation, making a recommendation).
• Highlight key issues: Jot down the main challenges or questions posed in the case
study.
2. Conduct Thorough Research
• Gather relevant information: Research industry trends, data, or concepts that can be
applied to the case study.
• Use credible sources: Refer to reliable sources such as academic journals, industry
reports, or company case studies to back your analysis.
3. Develop a Structured Approach
• Break down the case study into sections: Divide the case into different sections such
as:
o Problem identification
o Analysis of key factors
o Possible solutions
o Recommendations
• Create an outline: Structure your thoughts in a logical flow to ensure the case study
addresses the core issues step-by-step.
4. Apply Analytical Tools
• Use frameworks or models: Consider applying relevant business or technical
frameworks such as SWOT analysis, PEST analysis, Porter’s Five Forces, etc., to
support your analysis.
• Data-driven insights: Where possible, use quantitative data to back your analysis and
proposed solutions.
5. Develop Solutions
• Brainstorm potential solutions: Explore multiple approaches or strategies to solve
the problem.
• Weigh pros and cons: Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of each solution you
suggest.
• Prioritize recommendations: Highlight the most viable or impactful solution and
explain why it’s the best fit for the problem.
6. Present in a Clear and Concise Manner
• Create a compelling narrative: Ensure that your report or presentation follows a
clear, logical flow from problem identification to conclusion.
• Stay within word or time limits: Follow the guidelines provided regarding word
count or presentation time.
• Use visual aids: Where appropriate, use diagrams, charts, or tables to present
complex data clearly.
7. Pay Attention to Detail
• Check for clarity: Ensure that your analysis and recommendations are easy to
understand and free from ambiguity.
• Proofread: Review your case study for any grammatical or factual errors before
submission.
8. Time Management
• Plan your time: Allocate sufficient time to each part of the case study (research,
analysis, solution development, presentation).
• Stick to deadlines: Ensure you submit the case study or present it within the
stipulated timeline. 8th November 2024 to submit the case study
The case study should consist of the following slides (8 slides max) –
• Assumptions
• Target Users & the stakeholders involved.
• Detailed technology walkthrough
• Solution outline (outlining the use of technology and the key value offering)
• Wireframes/Mockups of important screens (HINT: identify user touch points)
• Pitfalls & Future Enhancements
