James: I am looking for an apartment to rent. What are you doing here? Looking for an
apartment also?
John: Yes. Since my parents’ house is so far away, I need to find an apartment closer to
school. I thought you were going to stay at the school dormitory.
James: I still have not decided whether to stay at the dormitory or not. I am looking at
different options to find the cheapest lodging.
John: So, what are you looking for?
James: All I need is a place big enough for my bed, my desk and my television. Of course,
the place should have a kitchen so that I can cook my meals. I will be living on a very tight
budget and will have to watch every dime.
John: Me too. So, a safe and decent apartment is all I need.
James: You’re right. Everything I’ve checked so far is too expensive and way beyond my
reach.

 Now look at the pictures given below and discuss which student accommodation would
you go for?
A: 1500TL B: 500TL

E) Best way to learn (Read the dialogue aloud)

Peter: Today I’d like you to share your opinions and experiences of learning with technology.
Sarah: Well, I’ve tried learning online. I did an online linguistics course last year.
Peter: Did you like it?
Sarah: Yes I enjoyed most of it, but I am not sure if it helped me that much. You can work at
the speed you want but sometimes, especially if a topic is difficult you need a teacher to
explain it more.
Peter: I see. Did you use computers or smart phones?
Sarah: I used my smart phone. Mobile learning is more convenient than traditional
classroom learning. However, I think blended learning, that is using technology and
traditional classroom learning together is the best way to learn.
