The 4 areas of Islam

Aqeedah: belief: it essentially means what we

as Muslims believe in, e.g. what prophets we
believe in etc.
Fiqh: understanding: Fiqh is the practical side
of Islam. It also includes the Shariah: the
Shariah is a law part of Islamic tradition.
Seerah: life of the prophet Muhammad (s.a.w):
the seerah is a study of the prophet’s life and
everything in relation to him. It contains all his
interactions with his companions and some of
the things that happened after his death.
General Islamic knowledge is an extra subject
that will cover various topics that will include
Respect, Manners, Etiquette, the Sahabahs
(companions) and the Qu’ran.
Aqeedah- Faith and Belief

Imaan-e-mufasal

1 .Allah
2. Angels
3. Books
4. Messengers
5. Day of judgement
6. Anything good/bad comes from Allah
7. Life after death

These are all things talked about in imaan-e-

mufasal (faith in detail)

1. Allah: there is only one Allah and he is the

creator of everything that exists. He is the
all-knowing and can see everything. He is
present everywhere and the most kind. He
will always be there as the almighty one.
(We) only worship Allah
2. Angels: the angels are created from light.
The do not have free will as they were
created with the sole purpose of serving
Allah. We believe that the angels are in
charge of the weather and many other
things. Angels do not have a gender nor
do they eat or sleep.

Some of the most important angels

The first angel is Hazrat gibraeel (a.s). He is

the arc angel/ master of all angels. He is the
messenger of revelation and was in charge of
bringing the Qu’ran to the prophet Muhammad
(s.a.w). He visited the prophet over 24,000
times (he also accompanied him on the night
of powers).
Hazrat Israfeal (a.s): he will blow the
Armageddon horn on to signal the Day of
Judgement
Hazrat mikal (a.s): he has 3 jobs, two of which
includes natural phenomenons and the rain.
He is one of the 4 great angels.
Hazrat Izareal (a.s): he is the angel of death
with his job being to remove the soul from the
body at the time of death.
Hazrat Raquib and Hazrat Atid (a.s): Hazrat
raquib is on your right and counts all your
good deed and Hazrat atid is on your left side
and counts all your bad deeds.

Books

3. The tawrat (torah) is the holy book of

Judaism. In Islam the torah is important
because the Qu’ran says it contains the
judgement of Allah. It was revealed to prophet
Musa (a.s) (Moses).
The injil (gospel) are biblical stories like Adam
and Eve which are important to Islam. It is the
book of Christianity and it was revealed to
Prophet Isa (a.s) (Jesus)
The zabur (psalms) was revealed before the
Qu’ran and is important to Islam because it
contains prayers of worship and praise. It was
revealed to king dawud (david)
The Qu’ran is most recognisable book in Islam.
It is written in Arabic and contains 114 surahs
(verses). It was revealed to Prophet
Muhammad (s.a.w) by the angel Gabriel
(Gibraeel [a.s])

Prophets

4.
o Every prophet is a messenger
o They were all sent with to different
communities and nations to spread the
message “to believe and obey Allah”
o Some were sent with scriptures while
others were sent with laws
o There were approximately 124,000
prophets

The first prophet was Hazrat Adam who is

the fore father of all humans. From his left
ribcage, Hazrat hava (eve) was created, the
mother of all humans (a.s)
The final prophet was Prophet Muhammad
(s.a.w)
There will be no more prophets after him
A unique quality of the messengers of Allah
is the fact that they are free of sin
The prophets invited people to Islam
Major Prophets

Prophet Ibrahim (a.s)[Peace be upon him])

English: Prophet Abraham
He was given scrolls
Overtime, this scripture has been lost with no
knowledge of it. The reason for this is that it
was never passed to the people.
One of the first prophets to come to Earth

Prophet Noh (a.s)

English: Noah
Was one of the first prophets
He was sent with laws
*
Prophet Musa (a.s)
English: Moses
Sent to the Jewish community
He was given the tawrat (torah)
We believe in the tawrat because it contains
the judgement of Allah

Prophet Isa
English: Jesus
He was given the injil (gospel)
Sent to the Christian community
Prophet isa is a messenger of Allah, not his son
Mother: Hazrat Mariam (a.s) or mary
Hazrat Mariam was told to stay quiet by the
angel gibraeel and prophet isa was born
without a father
Prophet Dawud (a.s)
English: King David
Was also sent to the Jewish community
Was given the zabur or the psalms
We believe in the zabur because it contains
prayers of worship and praise

Judgement day

The most certain and uncertain event in life is

death. Everyone knows he/she will die but
nobody knows it’s a fundamental to the
universe. The qayamat (dooms day)
When angel israfeal will blow the Armageddon
trumpet, it will shock and kill every living
thing.
On that day, everything will die, mountains will
float and planets will fall
Signs of judgement day

The day of judgement is about to come,

knowing Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w) will be
observing those near signs of the day of
judgement

difficult (because of fitting in/social norms)
but not impossible
Closer to the end of time

o Mahdi will appear

o The dijjal will also appear- false messiah.
During this time there will be great fitnah
(tribulations)
o There will also be the greatest fitnah
o Hazrat isa (a.s) will appear and defeat the
dijjal
o After this, there will be years of safety and
security
o The yajuj (gog) and the majuj (magog) will
appear
o When they appear, there will be great
fitnah
o For every 1 muslim, there will be 1000 of
them and their only purpose is to eat the
great wall of china again and again (it will
be rebuilt every time they eat it)
o Hazrat isa (a.s) will do dua and the gog and
magog will die
o There will be more years of safety and
security but after a few years Hazrat isa will
also die

ka’bah and they will be so tall it sinks it
o At this point the dijjal will be unstoppable
but he will be unable to enter makkah amd
medinah as there will be angels bordering
these holy cities

The last event that will take place will be

a horn blown by Hazrat israfeal (a.s)
o On the first blow, everyone will fear
o On the second, everything will drop/fall/be
finished
o On the third blow, everything Allah has
ever created will be resurrected (brought
back to life)

o When everything is resurrected, all humans

will face judgement from Allah. It will take
place in the Plain Of Ararfah
o All of your good and wrongdoings will be
seen and everything will be given the
ability to speak to testify for or against you
