PowerSchool Administrator

Title: PowerSchool Administrator

Job Goal: To provide management of the PowerSchool system, including instruction and advice to PowerSchool
end-users and coordination among all PowerSchool users.

Required Qualifications:
● Prior experience working with the PowerSchool Student Information System.
● Demonstrated experience and proficiency in providing end-user support.
● Demonstrated experience and proficiency in troubleshooting computer hardware and software.
● Demonstrated experience and proficiency with MS Office products, PCs, and Apple products.
● Knowledge of HTML pages and demonstrated experience and proficiency in editing HTML pages.
● Intermediate/advanced with SQL and PowerSchool proprietary tags/code (PSHTML)
● Demonstrated ability to diplomatically communicate with teachers, administrators, parents, vendors, and students.
● Possess effective communication, judgment, planning, and human relations skills, and will be able to work under
periods of stress due to the level of the position's responsibility.
● Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Educational Level:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent degree/work experience in a relevant field.

Reports To: Director of Technology

Responsibilities and Capabilities of the PowerSchool Administrator:


1. Administers all aspects of AIS-R's PowerSchool server and program.
2. Performs all school set-up functions in PowerSchool.
3. Administers and maintains software updates for PowerSchool and Oracle databases.
4. Designs and administers reports utilizing the Oracle database within PowerSchool.
5. Supports student add/drops/changes in PowerSchool.
6. Provides staff, parent, and student support and training in appropriate portals.
7. Administers PowerSchool Gradebook program and assists staff in setup and management of grade book.
8. Administers and edits HTML pages in PowerSchool to maintain and create customized pages.
9. Serves as the liaison between the Technology Department and PowerSchool.
10. Continually strives to improve methods, techniques, and interpersonal relationships and maintains current
knowledge of student information systems and PowerSchool trends, research, and initiatives.
11. Provides expedient end-user support as needed in additional areas of the Technology Department, including
basic desktop and network support, troubleshooting, and set-up.
12. Works cooperatively with administrators, supervisors, staff, parents/guardians, and outside vendors to perform job
responsibilities as outlined.
13. Actively and effectively communicates with the Director of Technology.
14. Communicates clearly and efficiently with students, parents, faculty, staff, and administration.
15. Participates in staff development programs as assigned.
16. Demonstrates effective planning, organization, and teamwork.
17. Promotes good citizenship through actions as a role model and conducts his/herself according to professional,
ethical principles.
18. Shares a commitment to the success of the mission, goals, and objectives of AIS-R.
19. Maintains the highest level of confidentiality pertaining to AIS-R’s employee records, financial information, and
student records.
20. Assumes other responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Technology.

Preferred Qualifications:
1. Two or more years of demonstrated experience and proficiency with Oracle Database.
2. Two or more years of demonstrated experience and proficiency with PowerSchool functions and administrations,
including DDE/DDA.
3. Demonstrated experience and proficiency with computer imaging software (Altiris, MS SCCM, Dameware, etc.)
4. Administers and edits HTML pages in PowerSchool to maintain and create customized pages.
5. Expert with SQL, Access, SPSS, and/or other data analysis software
6. Experience with Alteryx and Tableau Desktop.

Terms of Employment:
Salary will be assigned from the Faculty Salary Schedule.

Learning and Growth:


Performance will be evaluated in accordance with school policy by the designated supervisor.
