Short-cut Keys:
I. Open Settings:
Command (⌘) + Space

ii. Create a new virtual desktop:


Control (⌃) + Up Arrow to open Mission Control, then click the
+ sign in the top right.

iii. Switch between open applications:


Command (⌘) + Tab
iv. Open Run dialog box:
macOS doesn’t have an equivalent for Windows' Run dialog
box, but we can open Spotlight with Command (⌘) + Space to
search for applications and files quickly.

v. Select all items in a document:


 Command (⌘) + A

vi. Open Finder (equivalent to File Explorer):


 Command (⌘) + Option (⌥) + Space opens a new Finder
window.
 Command (⌘) + N opens a new Finder window when
you’re already in Finder.

vii. Open Activity Monitor (equivalent to Task Manager):


 Command (⌘) + Space to open Spotlight, then type
Activity Monitor and press Enter.
 Or use Command (⌘) + Option (⌥) + Esc to open the
Force Quit menu for quick app management.

viii. Minimize all windows:


 Command (⌘) + F3 (or Command (⌘) + Mission Control
key on some keyboards) to show the desktop.
 Command (⌘) + Option (⌥) + M minimizes all open
windows of the active app.

ix. Delete item permanently:


 Command (⌘) + Option (⌥) + Delete (on selected items
in Finder) bypasses the Trash and deletes items
permanently.

x. Lock your PC:


 Control (⌃) + Command (⌘) + Q

xi. Show or hide the desktop:


 Command (⌘) + F3 (or Command (⌘) + Mission Control
key) hides all open windows to show the desktop.

xii. Cycle through apps on the Dock (similar to taskbar):


 Control (⌃) + F3 to focus on the Dock, then use Arrow
Keys to navigate.

xiii. Cycle through virtual desktops:


 Control (⌃) + Left Arrow / Right Arrow.
