Use Cloud Analyst Tool :

Tasks for Lab

1. Simulate the cloud environment of three data centers in different geographical


locations and add virtual machines to them along with resources like storage,
compute and bandwidth using Cloud Analyst.

About Cloud Analyst Tool :

Cloud analytics is a marketing term for businesses to carry out analysis using cloud computing.
It uses a range of analytical tools and techniques to help companies extract information from
massive data and present it in a way that is easily categorized and readily available via a web
browser. Cloud analytics is term for a set of technological and analytical tools and techniques
specifically designed to help clients extract information from massive data. Cloud analytics is
designed to make official statistical data readily categorized and available via the users web
browser.

Step-1: Run Cloud Analyst


1. Download Cloud Analyst Simulator by the link.

if any problem occurs, then use the below link and download the tool.

2. Extract Files from the Zip file then the following folder structure will appear

3. Now select run from extracted file and open jars and click on cloud analyst.
Now, the following screen shall be displayed.

4. Click on configure simulation

5. Go to main configuration and add new databases

Cloud Analyst is a cloudsim tool for modeling and analysis of large scale cloud computing
environments
6. Goto Datacenter, configure and add new

7.By selecting each name, add a name and thus datacenters are created with these new names.

8. Click on done.

9. The Cloud will now show new data centers and databases

10. Lastly goto advanced data and add additional data which we require.
11. Save the file by using .sim or .xml on which data is generated and saved as sim file.

12. Now run the simulation and it gives the result as

13. The overall result will be displayed in window.The main window gives the statistical values.

14.In terminal we can find the allocated datacenters and the simulated values.

 Two datacenters with 25VMs in each


 Two datacenters with 50VMs each
 Case study 3 – Two datacenters with 50VMs each and sharing load during peak hours
 Case study 4 – Apply throttling to the processing of requests
 Case study 5 – Web application hosted on 03 datacenters with 50 VMs each
 Case study 6 - Web application hosted on 03 datacenters with 75,50,25 VMs each
