COURSE DESIGN
Course Title: ANIMAL PRODUCTION (POULTRY-
CHICKEN) NC II
Nominal Duration: 226 HOURS
Qualification Level: NC II
Course Description: This course is designed to enhance the
knowledge, desirable
attitudes and skills of animal production technician in
accordance with industry standards. It covers
maintaining of poultry house, performing
brooding and growing of birds, performing pre-
lay and lay activities and beak trimming of
birds. It also includes competencies in workplace
communication, teamwork, safety in the use of hand
tools and equipment, and housekeeping.

Trainee’s Entry Requirements

 Able to communicate both oral and written.


 good moral character.
 Able to read and write
 Physically fit and mentally healthy as certified by a Public Health
Officer.

Upon the completion of each module, the trainee will be assessed through

COURSE DELIVERY

The program will build on the present knowledge, skills and attitude of the
participants; thus, the conduct will be highly participative. The strategies will
focus on:

Note: ** Land area of poultry house good for one hundred (120) birds
Prior to accreditation, a training provide must have a Memorandum of Agreement
with private poultry farm with a at least one poultry house as practice
farm/workplace for the trainees.
QUALIFICATION OF
INSTRUCTORS/TRAINERS

Trainers who will deliver the training on ANIMAL PRODUCTION (POULTRY-


CHICKEN) NC II should have the following:

 Must be a holder of National TVET trainer Certificate I


(TM I and NC)
 Must be physically and mentally fit.
 Preferably computer literate
 Must have at least 2 years job/industry experience
