To take the growth curve to further heights, POWERGRID is looking for Bright, Committed and
Energetic Engineering Graduates to join its fold as ENGINEER TRAINEEs tentatively in the
disciplines of Electrical / Electronics / Civil / Computer Science through GATE 2025.

Such graduates who are desirous of pursuing further studies on the basis of GATE 2025
or need extension of joining time in case of selection need not apply.

POWERGRID may also use the GATE 2025 scores for recruitment for other positions/posts/
for its Subsidiaries depending on requirement.

Final Year / Semester students who expect their final results by 14.08.2025 are also eligible
to apply, provided they have obtained minimum 60% marks or equivalent CGPA in aggregate
of all semesters/years up to pre-final examination. In case of selection, their candidature shall

8. Reservation and Relaxation for OBC (NCL) will be subject to submission of a copy of the
latest OBC (NCL) certificate in the format prescribed by the Govt. of India for “Appointment
to posts under Govt. of India” from a competent authority at the time of application and
interview, if called for. The OBC candidates applying for the post must produce OBC (Non-
Creamy Layer) certificate based on the income for the Financial Year (FY) 2021-2022,
2022-2023 and 2023-2024 and issued on/after 01.04.2024 (after the completion of FY
2023-24).

9. Reservation for EWS will be subject to submission of a copy of the latest Income and
Asset Certificate issued by a Competent Authority at time of application and interview, if
called for. A candidate will be eligible to get the benefit of the Economically Weaker
Section reservation only in case the candidate meets the criteria issued by the Central
Government and is in possession of requisite Income & Asset Certificate based on income
for Financial Year (FY) 2023-2024 and issued on/after 01.04.2024 (after the completion of
FY 2023-24).

10. Reservation / Relaxation / Concession for Persons with Benchmark Disability is

subject to submission of medical certificate in prescribed format in support of permanent
disability issued by the Government Medical Board at the time of application and
interview, if called for.

11. In case Caste/Category certificate is issued in a language other than Hindi or English,
candidates are required to produce a certified translation of the same in either Hindi or
English language at the time of Document Verification, if called for.

12. SC/ST/PwBD/Ex-SM candidates are exempted from payment of application fee.

Trainees working in POWERGRID shall not be considered as Departmental Candidate .

SELECTION PROCESS
The Selection Process consists of marks obtained (out of 100) in the corresponding paper of
GATE 2025, Group Discussion & Personal Interview.
Eligible candidates will have to appear for the corresponding paper of GATE 2025, i.e.
Electrical Engineering (EE) / Electronics and Communication (EC) / Civil Engineering
(CE)/ Computer Science Engineering (CS).
Candidates qualified in corresponding paper of GATE 2025 shall only be eligible to be
considered for the next stage of selection. Qualifying marks in GATE 2025 shall be as decided by
GATE 2025 conducting authority.
Qualified candidates shall be short-listed category-wise for Group Discussion & Personal
Interview based on their normalized marks out of 100 in GATE 2025, in the corresponding
paper and as per the criteria decided by the Management.
Candidates shall have the option of appearing in the GD/Interview in Hindi or English.

Candidates shall obtain information about their status through their login at the POWERGRID
Online Application System. Shortlisted candidates shall be able to download their interview call
letter and other relevant documents through the candidate login.
Candidates shortlisted for the Group Discussion and Interview shall be required to bring the
documents as mentioned in their interview call letter.
Candidates must qualify in the Personal Interview in order to be considered for empanelment.
The qualifying % in interview for different categories is as mentioned below:

For calculation of final score of a candidate for empanelment, the weightages of marks obtained
in GATE 2025, Group Discussion and Interview shall be as indicated below:

Empanelment of Candidates
Candidates shortlisted for GD and interview may have to undergo psychometric assessment
results of which shall be used as an input during the interview. Candidates who qualify in the
Personal Interview will only be adjudged suitable for empanelment. Therefore, it is again
reiterated that candidates will have to qualify in GATE 2025 and in Personal Interview
separately in order to be considered eligible for empanelment.
Please note that only GATE 2025 score (Normalized Marks out of 100) is valid for this
recruitment process. GATE score of 2024 or prior is not valid.

The offer of appointment shall be issued to the suitable candidates in the order of category wise
merit and based on the requirement. Selected candidates shall be notified through their login in

Appointment of selected candidates will be subject to their being found medically fit in the Pre -

COMPENSATION PACKAGE
The Corporation offers a very attractive pay package and is one of the best in the Industry.
Selected candidates will be placed in the pay scale of Rs.40,000/- -3%- 1,40,000(IDA) during
the one-year training period. They shall be paid Basic Pay of Rs. 40,000/- along with IDA, HRA
and Perks @12% of basic pay during training period. The approximate CTC per annum shall be
as follows:

During Training Rs. 10.70 lakhs

After successful completion of Training Rs. 21.40 lakhs
The CTC shall vary depending on location of posting and other terms and conditions of
appointment.

On successful completion of training, the candidates will be absorbed as Engineer in E2 scale -

Rs. 50,000/- 3%- 1,60,000/- (IDA).
On regularization, Compensation package includes Basic Pay, Dearness Allowance, Perquisites
and Allowance as per cafeteria approach, Performance Related Pay, Company Leased
Accommodation / Company Quarters or HRA, Reimbursement of monthly conveyance
expenditure, digital services reimbursement, uniform, laptop facility, PF, Gratuity, Pension &
Leave encashment, Group Insurance, Group Personal Accident Insurance, etc.
The Corporation also offers excellent facilities like Short- and Long-term Loans & Advances in
subsidized rates including House Building Advance, Medical facilities for self and dependents,
etc. to its regular employees in accordance with the policies of the organization from time to
time.

SERVICE AGREEMENT BOND

The selected candidates will be required to execute a service agreement bond to successfully
complete the prescribed training period and thereafter serve the organization for at least three
years. The amount of the bond is INR 5,00,000/- for General/ OBC (NCL)/EWS candidates
and INR 2,50,000/- for SC/ST/PwBD candidates.

IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS FOR REGISTRATION/ APPLICATION

1. Candidates have to register themselves and appear for the corresponding paper of GATE
2025.

3. A separate notification with details regarding number of vacancies, reservation, important

shall be hosted on our website during February 2025 tentatively.
4. Application window for POWERGRID shall be open during February/ March 2025
tentatively. Candidates have to register themselves online at POWERGRID website with
details of their GATE 2025 Application No., GATE 2025 Registration Number and other
required information, which will be made available at CAREER section of
www.powergrid.in.
5. SC/ST/PwBD/ Ex-SM/ Departmental candidates are exempted from payment of application
fees. You are required to login to your candidate login section and then deposit non-
refundable application fees of Rs. 500/- through online mode only. On submission of
application fees, your application process will be treated as complete.
6. Candidates will be required to retain their GATE 2025 Admit card and GATE 2025 Score

GENERAL INFORMATION AND INSTRUCTIONS

1. Only Indian Nationals of age 18 years or above are eligible to apply for POWERGRID.
2. Before applying, the candidate should ensure that he / she fulfills the eligibility criteria

3. Essential qualification should be recognized in India and from a recognized Institution or
University.
4. Vacancies are for requirement all over the country, mostly on-site locations. Selected
candidates shall be assigned for OJT and final postings accordingly. Candidates are liable

based on the practice followed by the university/institution from where the candidate has
obtained the degree. In case the candidates are awarded grades/CGPA instead of marks,
the conversion of grades/CGPA to percentage of marks shall be based on the procedure

certified by the university/ institution from where they have obtained the bachelor’s
degree.
In case the university/ institution does not have any scheme for converting CGPA into
equivalent marks, the equivalence would be established by dividing the candidate’s CGPA
by the maximum possible CGPA and multiplying the result with 100.
9. Candidates working in Govt. organizations / PSU are required to produce “No Objection
Certificate” at the time of Interview.
10. Candidates claiming reservation under OBC (NCL) should belong to OBC- Non-creamy
layer as on last date of online submission of application to POWERGRID.
11. Candidates claiming reservation under EWS should belong to EWS as on last date of online
submission of application to POWERGRID.
12. Candidates selected in POWERGRID are liable to be posted anywhere in India and Abroad.
