is five times the remainder when the same expression is divided by 𝑥 − 1,

and 12 less than the remainder when the same expression is divided by 𝑥 −

3. Find the values of 𝑎 and 𝑏.

2. The expression 𝑥 7 − 𝑎𝑥 3 + 𝑏 is divisible by(𝑥 − 1) and has a
remainder 8 when divided by (𝑥 − 2) , find

10.Given that the polynomial f ( x) = Q( x) g ( x) + R( x) where Q(x) is the quotient,
g ( x) = ( x −  )( x −  ) and R(x) is the remainder, show that
( x −  ) f ( ) + ( − x) f (  )
R( x) = , when f (x) is divided by g (x) .
( −  )
