B. INTERVIEW SCRIPT
1. Opening:
Introduction
Welcome the candidate and express gratitude for their interest in the position.
Briefly introduce yourself and your role in the hiring process.
Provide a brief overview of the position and its importance in supporting Grade 1
students in English language development.
Icebreaker
Start with a friendly icebreaker question to help the candidate feel at ease.
Example: "Tell us a bit about yourself and what motivated you to apply for the
English tutor position for Grade 1 students."
2. Questions:
Situational questions
How would you approach tutoring a student who struggles with grammar
concepts?
Can you describe a situation where you had to adapt your teaching style to
accommodate a student's specific learning needs?
To suppose a student is losing motivation to learn English. How would you
address and overcome this challenge?
If you notice a student is falling behind in a group setting, how do you
ensure they catch up without singling them out?
How do you handle a situation where a student constantly misunderstands or
misuses certain vocabulary?
Describe a time when you had to modify a lesson plan on short notice to
better suit the needs of your students.
If a student is hesitant to speak in English due to confidence issues, what
