Title: The Huapo Colorado Monkey
Introduc�on:
The red huapo monkey, scien�fically known as "Cacajao calvus", is a species of
primate that lives in the jungles of the Peruvian Amazon. This monkey is easily
recognizable by its dis�nc�ve red face, a unique feature that makes it stand out
among other primates.
Habitat and distribu�on:
The red huapo monkey is found mainly in the lowland forests of the Amazon. It
prefers areas near rivers and swamps, where it can find abundant food and
shelter.
Physical Characteris�cs:
This primate has short, dense fur, usually brown or black, and a bright red naked
face. Males and females are similar sizes, although males are usually slightly
larger.
Behavior and Diet:
The red huapo monkey is diurnal and arboreal, spending most of its �me in the
treetops. Its diet consists mainly of fruits, seeds and leaves, although it also
occasionally consumes insects.
Conserva�on Status and Threats:
