1.1 The machine head consists of base, cover, great wheel, shaft for great wheel,
bearing with housing, etc. (see pic.2)
On the base of the head are four observation windows in order to inspect the materials,
adjust the baffle and clean the impurities. Moreover, on the wall of the vertical pipes of
the elevator is a small pulse filter to decrease the pressure inside the pipes and remove
dust. Exhaust inlet is sometimes equipped. As the bucket belt of big models moves at
4
high speed, the shell of the great wheel would be severely worn. To protect the shell, it is
usually lined with a layer of high polymer plate. To keep the belt from deviation, the
great wheel is in the shape of “U”.
Note: picture 1 is only sample which is subject to the real object.
Pic. 2
1.2 The base of the elevator consists of tail wheel, tail wheel shaft, bearing with housing,
tension device, hopper, etc as shown in pic.3. It can be equipped with clockwise or
counter clockwise inlet can be installed at any place on customers’ requirements. Counter
clockwise feeding is usually adopted. Adjust the distance between the head and tail
wheel by the tension device. Pay attention to tighten the bucket belt to keep it from
deviation and skid. On both sides of the lower part of the base are discharge door to
remove the remaining grains and impurities. There is a speed sensor on the tail shaft
which will alarm in case the bucket belt skids.

1.3 The elevator wit air draft consist lower part, filter, spraying device, upper cover,
etc as shown in pic. 4. According to the technical design, the small pulse filter
should be installed on the wall of the vertical pipes on side of the counter clock
feeding. The dirty air inside the drum of the elevator would be blew out by the fan
and exhausted to the outside. The dust would drop on the filter bag and finally be
blew down by the spraying device.

1.4 Welded by high quality steel plate, the machine drum is firm and well sealed. There
are common drum, maintenance drum, anti-explosion drum and anti dust drum. On the
anti-explosion drum is an explosion vent made of thin metal plate. A maintenance window
and moveable door can be equipped on customers’ requirements. Normal length of the
drum are 2000,1800,1500.
1.5 The driving part has several combinations: motor, hydraulic coupler, reducer or
motor, reducer, pulley, chain or motor, reducer, belt wheel, triangle belt, etc. It can
be installed on head of the equipment if the power is low. It can be installed on the
floor or working desk if the power exceeds 15kw. The control circuit of the bucket
elevator is to be supplied by the customers. A speed sensor can be equipped on the
tail wheel on customers’ requirements.
7
1.5 Bucket: It is usually riveted or welded by punched thin steel plate. Industrial
plastic is also acceptable as it is light, wearable and safety. There are deep, shallow
and bottomless buckets.
1.6 Bucket Belt: It is usually made of canvas band without cover or rubber band
with cover. There are three types for connection: lat joint, angle joint and flat joint.
Pay attention the joint should be in the direction of the band.

2. The flange joints of the machine drum should be lined with rubber strap. Fasten
the connection bolt. Pay attention there is no obvious gap or transplacement on the
13
ring of the flange.
3. The machine head should be installed according to the technical flowchart. The
inlet and outlet can be installed on the same side or opposite side.
4. Bucket and bucket belt: Pre-draw the bucket belt before punching. At least, three
bucket should be lap jointed together by belt joint. After that, install the bucket on
the belt with bolt.
5. Open the observation cover on the base of the head, adjust the baffle to keep the
bucket about 10-15mm from the baffle, fasten the back flowing baffle.
6. Driving device: install the working platform or motor frame at first, install the
motor on the platform or floor. Power it up to check the position of the motor. Cut
off the power, install the hydraulic coupler and reducer on the motor and shaft of the
elevator respectively. Fasten the connection part, load the driving belt and guard
cover.
14
6. Check the distance between the bucket and the discharge plate which should be
8-10mm.
7. Run the elevator for 2 hours with idle load. Pay attention to the tension of the
bucket belt. Make sure the bucket belt dose not deviate. Adjust the tail wheel if
necessary.
8. If idle running turns smooth, rotate the feeding slide gate. Try to keep the flow
rate stable. Don’t feed too much in case of blockage of the equipment. Do not touch
the feeding slide gate after adjustment.
9 .If all above steps are successful, add materials. Observe the back stop effect after
the equipment is stop.
VIII. Trouble-shooting
1. Check the equipment regularly including the fastener, safety guard, lubrication,
etc.
2. Control the flow rate before starting the equipment. Feed at even speed.
3. Pay attention to the following aspects:
16
(1) Adjust the tension screw rod irregularly. Tighten the bucket belt to prevent it
from offtrack.
(2) Pay attention to abnormal noise. Solve the problem immediately.
(3) Check the temperature of the bearing. If it exceeds 40, stop the equipment
for check.
4. Stop feeding first, stop the equipment until all remains have been discharged.
5. Common Trouble and Measures(see pic. 7)
Pic. 7
IX. Maintenance
1. Lubricate the bearing with calcium every month. Dissemble it for cleaning every year.
2. Check the bucket and bucket bolt every month. Replace and fasten it if it becomes loose
or damaged. Check it complete every year. Fasten or replace the spare parts.
3. If the equipment has been stop for over half month, remember to open the moving
17
door before staring the equipment to remove the remains inside the equipment.

X. Safety Warning
1. Keep the body away from the rotating device for fear of body injury.
2. Turn off the power before maintenance.
