PERSONAL

INTEREST
I chose yarn painting
because I wanted to
experience something new
and fun which was also out
of my comfort zone. It also
helps develop fine motor
skills. It's easy to start with
just yarn and a base, plus
each piece is unique. You
also don’t need expensive
product just yarn, a base
like canvas or cardboard,
and glue.
LEARNING
GOAL
I set a tough aim to improve
myself through yarn painting,
which is a new endeavor for
me. Exploring different
approaches sparks my
imagination and provides a
relaxing break from limits.
The appeal of different
painting concepts
encourages me even more in
this work. Yarn painting
promises both personal
growth and a very satisfying
artistic activity.
PRODUCT
GOAL
My objective is to craft yarn paintings
featuring bright colors and yarn
textures, achieved through materials like
yarn, canvas, and glue. I aim to emulate
the preciseness of each strand of yarn,
ensuring meticulous planning and
execution. Employing precise yarn
techniques for clean lines and
incorporating vibrant colors, I seek to
create visually striking artworks.
Furthermore, I'll cover the painting with
plastic wrap preventing it from dust and
moisture.
GLOBAL
CONTEXT
I used Personal and Cultural
expression because it allowed to
convey emotions, ideas, and cultural
influences through the tactile
qualities of the artwork. The use of
different patterns evoked different
feelings and interpretations, making it
a powerful tool for self-expression
and cultural representation.
CHALLENGES
◦ It was position, to stick the yarn into its
place because it kept getting stuck to
my fingers because of the glue.
◦ I tried to use different techniques like
using yarn hooks to place it precisely in
its position, but the yarn kept getting
out of its place.
◦ While cutting the yarn strands at the
end sometimes the yarn was cut too
small and because of this I had to redo
that specific yarn strand again and
again.
◦ I didn’t saw that the canvas was
showing between the yarn but when I
finished my product and checked it in
front view direction, I could see the
canvas between a LOT of yarns
because of this my painting looked a bit
messy and not perfect.
ATL SKILLS
Research skills: Information-literacy skills
It helped me to find information and use it
effectively. I was able to gather facts and
reach conclusions so that I can answer a
question. It helped develop my critical
thinking and problem-solving abilities.

Thinking skills: Critical thinking and creative

thinking skills
This specific skill encouraged me to use a
variety of approaches to solve problems,
analyze multiple viewpoints, adapt ideas,
and arrive at new solutions.
REFLECTION
Embarking on my personal project
journey, I marveled at the outcome
and the knowledge gained,
discovering unconventional materials
like toothpick and yarn hooks for
preciseness. Reflecting on my
accomplishments, I recognized the
depth of my understanding in the
subject, inspiring me to pursue more
intricate challenges with enhanced
creativity. Past struggles with
achieving smooth textures propelled
me to seek improvement, fostering a
reflective mindset aimed at refining
my skills for future endeavors.
