1. OBJECTIVES
This SOW “Scope of Work” establishes the standard inspection requirements including any component
measurements, inspections, required parts replacement, etc. This SOW is to identify the overall scope
while all details will be captured in internal SQP “Service Quality Plan”.
2. SCOPE
2.0 Visual Inspection
• All secondary retention (Tie Wire, Cotter Pins, Secondary Retention Cables)
• Excessive corrosion
• Any leakage
• Disassemble and inspection of all Four Way Three Position Selector Valves and three-
way two position valves, remove disassemble and inspect condition of ball bearings,
thrust washers, shear seals and seats, rotor and body for wash out and pitting and
serviced and reassembled with major repair kits
• Inspect and Servicing of Triplex and Air pumps and reassembled with new Repair kits
• Triplex Pump: Remove disassemble and inspect condition of the fluid end valve
assemblies, stuffing box, gland assemblies, bushings, plungers and fluid cylinder for
wear and corrosion. Inspect gear end crank shaft main bearings, crank journals,
crankshaft journals, connecting rods and bearings, crosshead and pins, chain and
sprockets for wear. Test the check valve and calibrate pressure relief valve to insure
proper operation
• Air Operated Pumps: remove disassemble and inspect condition of cylinder, piston,
plunger rod and pump body for wear. Inspect O-rings, pressure and back- up seals for
wear and condition. Inspect cylinder head, stanchions and breathers for cracks and
corrosion. Test valve to ensure proper operation and reassemble with new repair kit.
• Remove manifold and annular regulators from the unit disassemble and inspect
condition of spring for cracks and check tension. Inspect flow plates, seal retainer and
steel seals for damage and versatility, inspect regulator body and flanges for worn and
damaged areas and serviced with major repair kits
• MPI and wall thickness gauging of all accumulator bottles and replaced with new
bladder kit

• Hydro-Electric Pressure Switch, to be tested for correct cycling of pump, alarms and
ensure variable adjustment for calibration and serviced
• MPI and wall thickness check on all the accumulator manifolds and header manifold
• Opened the reservoir tank and drain oil. Clean the tank
• MPI all weld areas of tank and check wall thickness gauging
• Air back up tank need to be MPI, wall thickness and pressure tested
• Check all tubing’s and fitting for corrosion and damaged components to be replaced
• Inspect all thread connections, pipe, and accumulator manifold clamps for any
corrosion.
2.2 Assembly
• All equipment shall be assembled installing new bearings, seals, gaskets, and worn
parts as specified in the inspection report.
• On completion of assembly of the BOP Control unit, all three- and four-way positioning
valves, regulators, check valves, relief valves, air and electric pumps will be function
tested. Unit will be pressure tested to ensure there is no leaks from the accumulators’
bottles, manifolds and piping. Setting of the pressure switches would be carried out to
ensure correct cycling of the Triplex pump and air operated pumps
• Pressurize the unit to the rated working pressure and carry out all functional check from
Driller and Tool Pusher remote control panel to ensure all control valves and alarms are
operational

• Check all audible and visual alarms, light indication display on the unit and remote-
control panels.
3. REPORTING
• At completion of inspection all findings will be recorded in internal SQP to provide
report and recommendations.
• Parts list along with proposal will be issued based on all findings and recommendations.
• Parts list along with proposal will be issued based on all findings and recommendations.
4. COMMISSIONING
At the completion of closing all corrective actions a final inspection will be performed before
commencing with full testing and commissioning.
5. CERTIFICATION
At the completion of all corrective actions including any final testing and commissioning a COC “Certificate
of Conformance” will be issued outlining that at the time of inspection and repairs that the asset is fit for
service and meets all requirements as per API-16D procedures.
