Raw Materials
1. Wood Pulp
Hardwood trees and softwood trees are the two most common sources of wood pulp in the world.
Today, wood pulp is used to generate more than 90 percent of the entire amount of paper produced.
Wood pulp is produced by chemically or physically converting timber into a lignocellulosic fibrous
substance, which is then dried and ground into a powder. Newspapers, journals, toilet paper, and other
types of paper created from wood pulp are examples of wood pulp.
Softwood forest trees, such as pine & spruce, are the most abundant source of wood pulp in the world.
According to the paper industry, wood pulp is an environmentally benign and perfect raw resource for
paper production because trees are readily replanted, cheaply harvested, and conveniently transported.
2. Non-Wood Pulp
Certain types of pulp are composed of vegetable (cellulose) fibers that have been treated with various
additives to control the physical qualities, printability, and aesthetics of the end product. It is critical to
choose a suitable fiber.
The high-quality paper is made from materials with greater strength and durability, such as cotton, linen,
or hemp fibers. Paper’s structural stability is derived from the raw ingredients used in its production.
Straw, esparto, and bamboo grass are examples of nontraditional resources that have been used in the
production of fibers.
Waste paper recycling is an initiative to recycle these papers and turn them into new papers that can be
used again. Waste paper recycling machine is used to turn the old/used paper into new paper. The
old/used paper can be obtained from books, newspapers, boxes, corrugated cardboard, etc. Waste
papers are obtained in large amounts from schools, offices, and government or corporate buildings.
Wastewater paper pulp has a massive demand in the market, and It almost accounts for one-third of the
total amount of raw pulp produced. The Deinking process plays a significant role in processing this
recycled paper pulp.
Recycled paper is also called waste paper or mixed paper. Asian industries prefer wastepaper for paper
manufacturing. These countries are the largest importers of waste paper. They mostly rely on US and
European countries for waster paper.
4. Pigments or Coloring Agents
A variety of paper colors may be achieved through the use of pigments. Soluble pigments are widely
used to add different color paper. When it comes to paper coating, fluorescent dyes are frequently used.
As a result, several substances are utilized in the production of high-quality paper, all of which
contribute significantly to the paper’s strength and longevity. Get chemicals and additives of the highest
caliber from the finest paper and packaging firm to achieve the most outstanding results.
