Establishing Lesson Purpose / Intention:

Today, we will explore the rules and regulations that help us stay safe when visiting
different places in our community, like the market and the park. Learning these rules
is essential for our safety and helps us appreciate reading about our community and
its values.

Instructions -

1) Distribute picture cards of various community places to each student.

2) In pairs, students will discuss and identify at least two rules that apply to their
assigned place.

3) Each pair will present their findings to the class.

In summary, following rules and regulations in our community helps keep us safe
and makes our environment enjoyable for everyone. Understanding these rules
enhances our appreciation of reading about our community and its values. We can
reflect on how our actions contribute to a better community.

Jan Berenstain: This story highlights the importance of following rules in different
situations.
