Subject: A prayer application for consideration for being absent in my classes and stating the reason for
being absent.

Respected Ma’am

With reference to the subject as stated above, I am writing to inform you of my recent absence from
classes and the class test for the BCom 3rd Semester. Unfortunately, I was unable to attend for almost
three weeks due to the loss of my grandmother. She was admitted in ICU of Down Town Hospital at 31 st
of July 2024 and has passed away at 21st September 2024, after being admitted it was necessary to
attend her every day for all the family members as per doctor’s advice, since her condition was very
critical in each and everyday till her death, the doctor had intimated us to be prepared for any situations
which further hindered my ability to focus on my studies and attend classes. Additionally, it was not
possible for me at that time to make up time for regularly attending classes since it takes almost 4 hrs for
daily up and down from college.

Further in addition to all the above, during this challenging time, I also suffered from viral fever which
severely impacted my health also.

That madam, I understand the importance of keeping up with coursework and assessments, and I am
committed to catching up on all missed material.

Under the circumstances as stated in the presiding paragraph, I do hereby request you kindly to give
me the required advice and guidance on how I can make up for the missed class test and any additional
assignments and also most humbly request you kindly bear with me in this crucial time.
