Service Manual for S1-K12

1 Purpose
To facilitate effective analysis and repair of equipment faults by after-sales service personnel.

2 Scope
Repair of equipment during the after-sales process.

3 Responsibilities
The after-sales department is responsible for implementing maintenance of the company’s
S1-K12 equipment in accordance with this service manual.

4 Procedures

4.2 Repair Procedures

4.2.1 Equipment and Tools

Digital multimeter, clamp meter, laser power meter, testing tooling, load module, end-face tester,

screwdriver, dust-free paper.

4.2.2 Operations

4.2.2.1 Foot switch connection alarm

a) Cause analysis

1.Improper foot switch connection settings in the APP interface, i.e., set as wireless connection.

2.Internal soldering wire detachment or short circuit in the foot switch metal connector.

b)Repair measures

1.Set the device’s connection mode to wired connection.

2.If the customer has another foot switch, try replacing it to confirm if the issue lies with the foot

switch.

4.2.2.2Alarming despite normal connection of the device

a) Cause analysis

Emergency stop switch is pressed.

b) Maintenance measures

Pull up or rotate the emergency stop switch. If the alarm persists, check customer operations for

further action.

4.2.2.3 Constant alarm on fiber optic connection

a) Cause analysis

1.Fiber optic not tightened or individual SMA905 connectors are too short.

2.Malfunctioning main control board.

3.Laser module’s emitter or receiver has been damaged by static electricity.

b) Maintenance measures

1.Check if the fiber optic is tightly connected. Replace the fiber optic if necessary.

2.Replace the main control board. If the fiber optic alarm continues, it indicates laser abnormality.

In such cases, set the fiber optic alarm to be blocked in the engineer interface to satisfy the

customer’s preference.

3.If the customer does not accept the solution, send the equipment for repairs.

4.2.2.4 No alarm when fiber optic is not connected

a) Cause analysis

Malfunctioning laser.

b) Maintenance measures

If the customer does not accept the solution, send the equipment for repairs.

4.2.2.5 Remote interlock alarm

a) Cause analysis

Malfunctioning main control board.

b) Maintenance measures

Disconnect and reconnect the remote interlock or replace it with a new one. If the alarm persists,

replace the main control board.

4.2.2.6 Unable to power on the device

a) Cause analysis

1.Malfunctioning boat-type switch.

2.Malfunctioning main control board.

b) Maintenance measures

1.Connect the adapter, turn on the power switch, and check if the status indicator light is off. If

so, it indicates a malfunctioning boat-type switch.

2.If replacing the boat-type switch does not solve the problem, it suggests a malfunctioning main

control board. Replace the main board and recalibrate the power.

4.2.2.7 Unable to power off the device

a) Cause analysis

Malfunctioning boat-type switch.

b) Maintenance measures

Replace the boat-type switch.

4.2.2.8 No laser alignment

a) Cause analysis

1.Malfunctioning main control board.

2.Malfunctioning laser.

b) Maintenance measures

1.In the app interface, adjust the laser alignment to the third level. If there is still no laser

alignment, replace the main control board for testing.

2.If the issue persists after replacing the main control board, it confirms a laser malfunction.

4.2.2.9 Weak laser alignment

a) Cause analysis

Malfunctioning laser.

b) Maintenance measures

In the app interface, adjust the laser alignment to the third level. Then, in the engineer interface,

adjust the initial range values of the laser alignment to 60, 80, and 100. If there is no

improvement, it indicates a laser abnormality and requires factory repairs.

4.2.2.10 No power output

a) Cause analysis

1.Main control board malfunction;

2.Laser malfunction;

b) Maintenance measures

1.Use a clamp meter to test the current at the laser output of the main control board. If there is no

current, it can be confirmed as a main control board malfunction;

2.If there is current but no power output, it can be confirmed as a laser malfunction, and it needs

to be sent back for repair.

4.2.2.11 Low output power

a) Cause analysis

1.Uneven cutting of the bare fiber end face;

2.Contamination on the SMA905 end face of the bare fiber;

3.Modification of power calibration data;

4.Laser power attenuation;

b) Maintenance measures

1.Set the equipment to the preparation stage and observe whether the laser spot is circular and

uniform. If not, the bare fiber end needs to be recut or replaced;

2.After the bare fiber spot is normal, if the power is still low, use an end-face inspection

instrument to observe the SMA905 end face. If it is contaminated, use a lint-free paper to clean it.

Otherwise, replace the bare fiber;

3.If the bare fiber is normal, set the equipment to maximum power, use a clamp meter to test the

working current of the laser output. If the current reaches 7A and the output power is still low, it

can be confirmed as a laser malfunction and needs to be sent back for repair. If the current does

not reach 7A, recalibration of power is required.

4.2.2.12 Device unable to charge

a) Cause analysis

1.Lithium battery malfunction;

2.Main control board malfunction;

b) Maintenance measures

1.First, replace the qualified lithium battery. If charging is normal, it can be confirmed as a

lithium battery malfunction;

2.If it still cannot charge, replace the main control board.

4.2.2.13 Device unable to start without connecting to power supply

a) Cause analysis

Lithium battery malfunction;

b) Maintenance measures

First, replace the qualified lithium battery. If the startup is normal, it can be confirmed as a

lithium battery malfunction.

4.2.2.14 Abnormal battery level display

a) Cause analysis

1.Lack of internal calibration of the lithium battery manufacturer’s capacity;

2.Unstable collection of charging and fully charged states of the lithium battery, resulting in

deviation in the absolute power level collection;

b) Maintenance measures

1.First, replace the qualified lithium battery and connect the adapter for charging. Observe the

device’s charging icon;

2.If the charging process and display are normal, it can be confirmed as a lithium battery

malfunction. If the display is still abnormal, software and hardware modification is required. It is

recommended to send it back for repair.

4.2.2.15 Status indicator light displays normally at startup, but the screen is not lit

a) Cause analysis

1.Loose gray ribbon cable connecting the display board and the main control board;

2.Display board malfunction;

3.Screen malfunction;

b) Maintenance measures

1.Disassemble the device and observe if the gray ribbon cable is loose;

2.If there is no looseness, replace the display board. If the screen can display normally, confirm it

as a display board malfunction, and then re-enter the power calibration data;

3.If the screen still does not light up, it can be confirmed as a screen malfunction. It is

recommended to replace the front screen (screen, display board, upper cover).

4.2.2.16 Continuous flickering and striping on the display screen

a) Cause analysis

Screen malfunction;

b) Maintenance measures

Disassemble the device and replace the display screen. If it is not possible for the end customer

to send it back for repair, it is recommended to replace the front screen (display screen + display

board + upper cover).

4.2.2.17 The display screen shows normally but cannot enter the system

a) Cause analysis

Display board malfunction;

b) Maintenance measures

Replace the display board and recalibrate the power.

4.2.2.18 Unresponsive touch screen

a) Cause analysis

Touch screen malfunction, damaged by static electricity;

b) Maintenance measures

Replace the touch screen and upper cover (the display screen and touch screen are an integrated

unit). If it is not possible for the end customer to send it back for repair, it is recommended to

replace the front screen (screen, display board, upper cover).

4.2.2.19 Unable to upgrade software

a) Cause analysis

1.For automatic upgrade, the WIFI is not connected;

2.For USB upgrade, the APK file is not placed in the root directory of the USB drive;

b) Maintenance measures

1. If automatic upgrade is selected, make sure the Wifi is connected properly. If the Wifi

connection is stable but the upgrade is still not possible, use a USB drive for the upgrade.

2. USB drive upgrade: Place the APK file in the root directory of the USB drive, then follow the

USB drive upgrade process.

4.2.2.20 Unable to connect to Wifi

a) Cause analysis

1. Weak network signal.

2. Loose antenna on the device.

3. Wifi module malfunction.

b) Maintenance measures

1. Check if the network signal at the current location is normal.

2. If the network signal is normal but the device still can't connect to Wifi, check if the antenna is

loose by disassembling the device.

3. If the antenna is not loose but the device still can't connect to Wifi, it indicates a Wifi module

malfunction. It is recommended to replace the display board. If the end customer is unwilling to

send the device for repair, consider replacing the front screen (display screen + display board +

upper cover).

4.2.2.21 Speaker is not working

a) Cause analysis

1. Speaker malfunction.

2. Display board malfunction.

b) Maintenance measures

1. Open the device, but do not rush to remove the speaker. Instead, disconnect the speaker

terminal and connect an external speaker for verification.

2. If the external speaker works properly, replace the faulty speaker. If the speaker still does not

produce sound, replace the display board instead.

4.2.2.22 Fan is not spinning

a) Cause analysis

1. Loose fan connection.

2. Fan malfunction.

b) Maintenance measures

1. Disassemble the device and check if the fan connection is loose.

2. If there is no looseness and the fan still does not spin, connect an external fan for verification.

If the external fan spins, replace the faulty fan.

4.2.2.23 Unable to save time and date

a) Cause analysis

1. The button cell battery is depleted.

2. Not connected to Wifi.

b) Maintenance measures

Replace the button cell battery or connect to Wifi to synchronize the time.
