Input Device:
1. Mouse:
Mouse is the one of the input device. Mouse stands for mechanical operated
User Serial Engine. The mouse is used as pointing device. It is a small device. The
mouse has 2 buttons left button and right button and also it has wheel.
2. Keyboard:
The keyboard is the most conventional of all input devices. The arrangement
of Keys is similar to that of the conventional typewriter, but it has additional keys.
The computer keyboard has 5 categories of keys:
Alphabetic Keys (A to Z) 2. Numeric Keys (0 to 9 3. Arrow Keys 4.Special Keys
(Enter, Caps Lock, Shift) 5. Function Keys (F1 to F12)Used
3. Scanner:
A Scanner is a direct entry input device that can be moved over a drawing or
photograph or any other document. The scanner converts the data that has been
scanned in to a digital format. The scanned document or photograph can then be
used in any form that is suitable for the computer user. The scanner can be used for
recognizing any type of data. i.e. either for image processing or characters recogni-
tion.
Out Put Device:
1) Monitor:
The monitor is an output device that helps the computer to communicate with
the user. The monitor screen looks like TV Screen. The information is flashed on the
screen. It is also called Visual Display Unit (VDU) we can see text and graphical picture
on the screen. A monitor can be either black & white or color.
2) Printer:
Printer is a device that can print text and pictures on paper. Some printers can
print only in text format and some both in text and graphics. According to different
types of the printers, their shape and size may be change printers can be classified
into two types 1) Impact Printer – Dot Matrix 2) Non Impact Printer – Laser Printer,
Inkjet Printer
3) Speaker: The speaker is an output device; through Speakers we can hear all sorts
of sound.
4) Plotter: A Plotter is a special kind of output devices. It is like a printer because it
produces image on the paper.

1. Text box
A text box is an object you can add to your document that lets you put and
type text anywhere in your file. Text boxes can be useful for drawing attention to
specific text and can also be helpful when you need to move text around in your doc-
ument.
2. Word art
WordArt is a gallery of text styles that you can add to your publications to
create decorative effects, such as shadowed or mirrored (reflected) text. You can use
WordArt to add special text effects to your document

3. Date and Time
On the Insert tab, in the Text group, click Date & Time. In the Date and time
dialog box, select the format you want. Select the Update automatically check box.
The date is inserted as a field and will update automatically.

4. Equation
If you need to use an equation, add or write it in Word. Select Insert > Equa-
tion or press Alt + =. To use a built-in formula, select Design > Equation. To create
your own, select Design > Equation > Ink Equation. Use your finger, stylus, or mouse
to write your equation

5. Symbols
Microsoft Word has special features called symbols in which user can insert
many different types of symbols in the document. MS Word has a variety of symbols,
special characters, fractions, languages, etc. We can insert the symbols and special
characters with the help of the Symbol dialog box present in MS Word.
