Classic Spaghetti Sauce

Let’s start with the classic tomato spaghetti sauce because it is the
foundation of many pasta dishes. Here, you get to make it yourself,
so you’re assured of a healthier and tastier option than that of the
store.

Ingredients:
2 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
1 tbsp tomato paste
4 garlic cloves, minced
1 (28 oz) can crushed tomatoes
Salt and black pepper to taste
1 tsp dried oregano
½ tsp red chili flakes
¼ cup chopped fresh basil

Instructions:
1. Heat olive oil in a medium pot over medium heat.
2. Stir in tomato paste and garlic. Cook for 2 minutes or until
fragrant.
3. Add crushed tomatoes, rinse container with ½ cup of water and
add to pot. Season with salt, black pepper, oregano, red chili flakes,
and basil. Stir well.
4. Simmer for 30 minutes or until sauce thickens.
5. Adjust taste with salt and black pepper. Serve with pasta.
Marinara Sauce

Marinara sauce is a favorite when it comes to pasta; hence, it should


be made with authenticity. This recipe does without the additives to
keep it as natural, healthy, and tasty as can be.

Ingredients:
¼ cup extra virgin olive oil
4 garlic cloves, thinly sliced
½ medium onion, finely chopped
1 (28 oz) can whole tomatoes
1 tsp dried oregano
A pinch of red chili flakes
Salt and black pepper to taste
2 large basil sprigs, fresh

Instructions:
1. Heat olive oil in a medium pot over medium heat.
2. Add onion and sauté for 3 minutes or until tender.
3. Stir in garlic and cook for about 1 minute or until fragrant.
4. Add tomatoes and use a wooden spoon to break up tomatoes into
small pieces. Rinse tomato can with ½ cup of water and add to pot.
5. Season with salt, black pepper, oregano, and red chili flakes
6. Stir in basil and simmer for 20 minutes or until sauce slightly
thickens.
7. Remove basil sprig from sauce and serve with pasta.
Cheesy Marinara

If cheese is your plug, then this sauce will stay on your menu often. It
is so tasty and has all that cheese and more to please you well.

Ingredients:
1 tbsp. olive oil
1 medium onion, finely chopped
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 (28 oz) can crushed tomatoes
Salt and black pepper to taste
1 tsp dried oregano
A pinch of red chili flakes
¼ cup shredded fontina
¼ cup shredded mozzarella
¼ cup ricotta cheese
¼ cup shredded Asiago
¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
Chopped fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions:
1. Heat olive oil in a medium pot over medium heat.
2. Add onion and sauté for 3 minutes or until tender.
3. Stir in garlic and cook for 1 minute or until fragrant.
4. Add tomatoes and use a wooden spoon to break up tomatoes into
small pieces. Rinse tomato can with ½ cup of water and add to pot.
5. Season with salt, black pepper, oregano, and red chili flakes.
Simmer for 10 minutes or until sauce slightly thickens.
6. Stir in all cheeses until melted and creamy. Adjust taste with salt

Alfredo Sauce

The creaminess of this sauce makes it a favorite when talking about


pasta. While it looks like a project, it is actually a simple make that
tastes a bunch.

Ingredients:
½ cup butter, largely cubed
2 cups heavy cream
1 garlic clove, minced
¾ tsp Italian seasoning
¾ tsp garlic powder
¼ tsp kosher salt

2 cups freshly grated Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese

Instructions:
1. Add butter and heavy cream in a pot. Place over low-medium heat
and stir until butter melts.
2. Add garlic, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and black
pepper. Stir and simmer for 3 to 4 minutes while constantly whisking
until thickened.
3. Stir in Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese until melted. Adjust taste with
salt and black pepper as desired.
4. Use sauce with pasta.
Pumpkin Alfredo Sauce

If you’re in for some color without introducing tomatoes into your


sauce, this pumpkin is one with fantastic character. It is creamy and
makes a nice appearance.

Ingredients:
2 tbsp butter
2 garlic cloves, minced
¾ cup pumpkin puree
½ tsp chopped fresh rosemary
½ cup whole milk
½ cup freshly grated Parmesan + extra for serving

2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
Instructions:
1. Melt butter in a pot over medium heat.
2. Add garlic and sauté for 30 seconds or until fragrant.
3. Stir in pumpkin puree and rosemary. Add milk and stir until

4. Add Parmesan cheese, nutmeg, and season with salt and black
pepper. Stir and simmer for 5 minutes or until thickened to your

Sun-Dried Tomato Alfredo Sauce

Chunky bites of dried tomatoes in a creamy sauce make this one a


star. Meanwhile, this recipe sits in some cream cheese to make you
enjoy deep milky flavors.

Ingredients:
1 tbsp olive oil
2 garlic cloves, minced
¼ cup chopped sun dried tomatoes, oil-packed
1 tbsp dried oregano
2 tbsp all-purpose flour
½ cup low-sodium chicken broth
1 cup milk
2 tbsp tomato paste
2 oz cream cheese, room temperature
1 cup freshly grated Parmesan + extra for garnish
¼ cup chopped fresh basil + extra for garnish

Instructions:
1. Heat olive oil in a pot over medium heat.
2. Add garlic and sauté for 1 minute.
3. Add sun-dried tomatoes and oregano. Stir well.
4. Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute or until golden. Pour in chicken
broth and milk, stir and cook for 2 minutes or until thickened.
5. Add tomato paste, cream cheese, and Parmesan cheese. Stir until
cheeses melt and well-combined. Stir in basil.
6. Serve sauce with pasta garnish with more basil.
Beef Bolognese Sauce

Bolognese sauce is a classic and doesn’t require too much effort to


make. The trick to getting the best flavor and taste from it is to let it
slow-cook for at least an hour.

Ingredients:
1 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
1 medium carrot, finely chopped
1 celery stalk, finely chopped
1 white onion, chopped
1 lb. ground beef
2 garlic cloves, minced
½ cup dry white wine
2 cups beef broth
3 tbsp tomato paste
1 (15 oz) can crushed tomatoes
1 bay leaf
1 cup whole milk
Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions:
1. Heat olive oil in a pot over medium heat.
2. Add carrot, celery, and onion. Sauté for 7 minutes or until tender.
3. Stir in beef and garlic. Cook for 8 minutes while breaking up the
meat lumps that form into small pieces.
4. Pour in white wine, stir and let reduce for about a minute.
5. Add beef broth, tomato paste, tomatoes, and bay leaf. Stir and
cook over low heat for 1 hour or until the flavors combine well.
6. Stir and remove bay leaf.
7. Mix in milk, cover pan halfway and simmer for 45 minutes. Season
with salt and black pepper.
Vodka Pasta Sauce

A splash of alcohol in this sauce gives you elevated flavors. It has


some spicy notes that will make lunchtime all the better.

Ingredients:
3 tbsp butter
1 shallot, minced
2 garlic cloves, minced
½ tsp red chili flakes
½ cup tomato paste
2 tbsp vodka
Salt to taste
½ cup heavy cream
½ cup freshly grated Parmesan + extra for serving
Salt to taste
Fresh basil for garnish

Instructions:
1. Melt butter in a pot over medium heat.
2. Add shallot and garlic. Sauté for 1 minute or until fragrant.
3. Add red chili flakes and tomato paste. Stir well and cook for 5
minutes or until starting to darken.
4. Pour in vodka and let reduce for about a minute.
5. You can add your pasta and some of its cooking liquid at this
stage.
6. Stir in heavy cream and Parmesan cheese until cheese melts.
Season with salt.
7. Garnish with basil and serve.
Lamb Ragu

Lamb Ragu is that sauce that goes well on other dishes as well as
pasta. The unique and delicious flavor of lamb fills the pot and gives
the sauce a distinct aroma.

Ingredients:
2 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
2 medium carrots, peeled and diced
2 celery stalks, chopped
1 onion, chopped
2 garlic cloves, minced
2 tbsp tomato paste
2 lb. ground lamb
½ cup red wine
2 (28 oz) cans crushed tomatoes
2 tsp chopped fresh oregano
2 tsp chopped fresh rosemary
2 tsp chopped fresh thyme
¼ tsp red chili flakes
Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions:
1. Heat olive oil in a pot over medium heat.
2. Add carrots, celery, and onion. Sauté for 5 minutes or until tender.
3. Stir in garlic and tomato paste and cook for 1 minute.
4. Add lamb and cook for 6 minutes while breaking the lumps that
form.
5. Pour in red wine and cook for 1 to 2 minutes or until most of wine
has reduced.
6. Pour in tomatoes, rinse tomato can with ¼ cup of water and add
red chili flakes, herbs, salt, and black pepper.
7. Let sauce boil, then reduce heat to low and simmer for 1 hour or
until sauce thickens. Adjust taste with salt and black pepper as
needed.
8. Serve with pasta.
Classic Pesto

When talking about pasta sauces, pesto is an important addition. In


this recipe, we make it the most authentic possible. For even better
traditional flavors, blend the ingredients in a stone mortar. You’ll love
the distinction in flavor.

Ingredients:
2 cups fresh basil, tightly packed
2 garlic cloves, minced
¼ cup pine nuts
½ cup extra-virgin olive oil
Kosher salt to taste
½ cup freshly grated Parmesan

Instructions:
1. Add all ingredients to a food processor except for Parmesan
cheese. Blend until smooth.
2. Stir in Parmesan cheese and adjust taste with salt as needed.
3. Use with pasta.
Meatballs Pasta Sauce

We haven’t found a meat-lover who doesn’t love pasta with


meatballs yet. This sauce is the perfect base with meatballs for your
pasta.

Ingredients:
2 tbsp olive oil
2 green onions, finely chopped
2 lb. ground beef
1 medium egg
1 tbsp breadcrumbs
Salt and black pepper to taste
1 (14 oz) can crushed tomatoes
1 tsp ground cumin
1 tbsp tomato purée

Instructions:
1. Heat 1 tbsp of olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
2. Add green onions and sauté for 2 minutes or until tender. Turn
heat off.
3. In a bowl, combine half of green onions, beef, egg, breadcrumbs,
salt, and black pepper. Mix well and form 8 balls out of the mixture.
Place meatballs in refrigerator for 30 minutes.
4. After 30 minutes, heat remaining olive oil in a skillet over medium
heat.
5. Fry in meatballs for 4 to 5 minutes per side or until golden brown
and compacted. Remove meatballs onto a paper towel-lined plate to
drain grease.
6. Add reserved green onions, tomato puree, tomatoes, and cumin to
skillet. Bring to a boil for 5 minutes and add meatballs. Spoon some
sauce over meatballs.
7. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 25 minutes or until sauce
thickens. Adjust taste with salt and black pepper.
8. Serve with pasta.
Goat Cheese Pasta Sauce

Goat cheese takes some real territory in this sauce and we love it! It
gives the sauce a beautiful pink color and a unique cheese flavor
nicely merged with roasted tomatoes.

Ingredients:
1 cup grape tomatoes, halved
1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
Salt and black pepper to taste
2 garlic cloves, minced
2 cups tomato sauce
¼ cup goat cheese
1 tbsp chopped fresh basil
Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 400 F.
2. Spread tomatoes on a baking sheet. Next, drizzle with half of olive
oil and season with salt and black pepper. Mix well and roast in oven
for 10 minutes or until tender.
3. Heat remaining olive oil in a pot over medium heat.
4. Add garlic and sauté for 1 minute or until fragrant.
5. Pour in tomato sauce and simmer for 10 minutes. Stir in goat
cheese until melted and warmed.
6. Add roasted tomatoes and basil and fold in. Turn heat off.
7. Serve sauce with pasta.
Vegan Creamy Garlic Sauce

Pasta sauces can be all that creamy from animal milk and if you’re
vegan, we’ve got the right replacement for you. This sauce is super
tasty yet perfectly plant-based

Ingredients:
½ cup raw cashews, soaked overnight and drained
2 to 3 garlic cloves, minced
1 tsp onion powder
1 ½ cups plant-based milk like almond milk
1 tbsp olive oil
1 to 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice, as needed
¼ tsp red chili flakes or to taste
1 tbsp nutritional yeast
Kosher salt to taste
Cooked pasta of choice for serving
½ cup grape tomatoes, halved
Chopped fresh basil for garnish

Instructions:
1. In a food processor, combine all ingredients except for pasta,
tomatoes, and basil. Blend until smooth.
2. Toss cooked pasta and tomatoes with sauce blend in a skillet over
medium heat until warmed through.
3. Garnish with basil and serve.
Pink Mozzarella Sauce

Pink pasta sauces are common in the world of pasta. We love this
one because it has a stretchy feel from mozzarella cheese.
Meanwhile, the creaminess is so addictive that you’ll definitely want
to finish your plate.

Ingredients:
1 tbsp olive oil
2 tbsp butter
1 small red onion, minced
4 garlic cloves, minced
1 ½ cups tomato sauce
1 chicken bouillon cube, crumbled
1 tsp dried basil
A dash of red chili flakes to taste
A pinch of sugar
Salt and black pepper to taste
½ cup heavy cream
½ cup milk
½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions:
1. Heat olive oil and butter in a pot over medium heat.
2. Add onion and sauté for 4 minutes or until tender. Stir in garlic and

3. Add tomato sauce, bouillon cube, basil, red chili flakes, sugar, salt,

Sicilian-Style Pasta Sauce

It has a big name but a simple process. It is a nutty sauce that


requires blending all your ingredients and tossing with your pasta.

6 anchovy filets

1 tbsp butter
1 tbsp olive oil
5 garlic cloves, minced
1 chicken bouillon cube, crumbled
1 cup heavy cream

1 (15 oz) can crushed tomatoes
1 bay leaf
2 tsp dried oregano

2 tbsp olive oil
4 medium carrots, diced
2 medium green bell peppers, deseeded and chopped
4 cups sliced mushrooms
2 medium onions, chopped

drained
2 (6 oz) cans Italian-style tomato paste
2 (15 oz) cans tomato sauce
1 tbsp sugar
Salt to taste
Grated Parmesan cheese for garnish

Instructions:
1. Heat olive oil in a pot over medium heat.
2. Add carrots, bell peppers, mushrooms, and onions. Sauté for 5 to
7 minutes or until tender.
3. Pour in tomatoes, tomato paste, tomato sauce, sugar, and salt.
Let boil and then simmer over low heat for 10 to 15 minutes or until
reduced. Adjust taste with seasoning.
4. Serve sauce with pasta garnished with Parmesan cheese.
Arrabiata Sauce

Arrabiata sauce is a classic with lovely spicy notes. It is a quick put-


together to love.

2. Add red chilies, garlic, and red chili flakes. Sauté for 1 minute or

3 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
2 (15 oz) cans petite diced tomatoes
1 tbsp olive oil
1 medium onion, chopped
1 medium green bell pepper, deseeded and chopped

2 garlic cloves, minced
2 (15 oz) cans tomato sauce
2 tbsp Italian seasoning
3 cups beef broth
Salt to taste
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions:
1. Heat olive oil in a pot over medium heat.
2. Add bell pepper and onion. Sauté for 5 minutes or until tender. Stir
in garlic and cook for about 1 minute or until fragrant.
3. Add beef and cook for 10 minutes while breaking the lumps that
form.
4. Pour in tomatoes, tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, Italian
seasoning, beef broth, bay leaves, and salt. (If cooking with
macaroni, you can add some at this stage).
5. Bring to a boil, cover and simmer for 20 minutes or until sauce
thickens to your desire.
6. Serve sauce with pasta and a topping of cheddar cheese.
Roasted Pepper Sauce

The color is catchy and the aroma so inviting. It is a quick


combination and coats well with pasta.

2 tbsp olive oil
1 large red onion, chopped
4 garlic cloves, minced
½ cup raw cashews , soaked overnight and drained
2 large roasted red bell peppers

2 tbsp nutritional yeast
1 tbsp tomato paste
Salt and black pepper to taste
¼ cup chopped fresh basil

Basil Cream Sauce

This sauce shies one step away from pesto and elevates pesto with
some cream at the same time. In other words, it is less green, still
flavor-packed and with more creaminess. Enjoy!

1 onion, finely chopped
2 to 3 garlic cloves, minced
1 tsp dried mixed herbs

1. Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat.

Slow-Cooker Tomato Sauce

2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
2 cups sliced sausages
½ medium onion, finely chopped
4 garlic cloves, thinly sliced
2 (28 oz) cans crushed tomatoes
1 tsp dried oregano
1 (15 oz) can fire-roasted diced tomatoes
2 bay leaves
½ tsp Italian seasoning
A pinch of red chili flakes
2 large basil sprigs
Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions:
1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
2. Cook in sausages for 5 to 7 minutes or until golden brown.
Transfer sausages to slow cooker.
3. Add onion to skillet and sauté for 3 minutes or until tender. Stir in
garlic and cook for 1 minute or until fragrant. Add mixture and
remaining ingredients to slow cooker.
4. Cover and cook on LOW for 8 hours.
5. Open slow cooker, stir and adjust taste with seasoning.
6. Serve with pasta.
Pomodoro Sauce

This sauce is like the Arrabiata but with basil. So easy to make, has
the right amount of heat, and excellent flavors.

1 large white onion, chopped

Green Onion Pasta Sauce

Throw in a good bunch of green onions in your sauce for that deep
onion-y flavor, crunch, and lovely color.

Chili powder to taste

1 cup milk

tender.
3. Stir in garlic and herbs. Cook for 1 minute or until fragrant.
4. Add tomato paste, tomatoes, sugar, vegetable broth, chili powder,
salt, and black pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes or until tomatoes are
tender.
5. Stir in milk and cream cheese until cream cheese melts. Simmer
for 4 to 5 minutes and adjust taste with salt and black pepper.
6. Serve sauce with pasta.
Creamy Pesto

Boost pesto with more cream and you’ll be grateful for the outcome.
It smears well on pasta and each bite makes you want to jump into
the next already.

2 cups fresh basil, tightly packed
2 garlic cloves, minced
¼ cup pine nuts
½ cup extra-virgin olive oil

1. Add all ingredients to a food processor except for Parmesan
cheese and heavy cream. Blend until smooth.
2. Pour pesto into a skillet and heat over medium heat.

Creamy Lemon Sauce

We saved one of our easy-peasy favorites for the last. The tang is
right in this one, it merges well with cream, and it makes pasta taste
so amazing.

2 tbsp butter
1 small garlic clove, minced
½ tbsp flour
¼ cup chicken and vegetable broth
½ lemon, zested and juiced
1 cup heavy cream

⅓ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese + extra for garnish
Instructions:
1. Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat.
2. Add the garlic then sauté for 1 minute or until fragrant.
3. Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute or until light golden.
4. Mix in broth until smooth and add lemon zest, lemon juice, heavy
cream, and Parmesan cheese. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes or until
cheese melts. Season with salt and black pepper.
5. Serve sauce with pasta.
