Mindful Makes See page 26

I can’t believe it’s February already – spring is officially on its

way! If you made any in January, have you managed to keep up
with your resolutions?

This month at Crochet Now, we're focusing on the importance of

being mindful; it's been a wild ride in recent years, and it’s important
to find what makes us happy. We have plenty of inspiration for you to
put aside some quality ‘me’ time and get crocheting! If you’re looking
to create a tranquil space in your home, check out the Little Lotus Wall
Hanging (page 46), or recreate a garden vibe by hooking up a Buds
and Blooms Blanket (page 14). Interested in yoga or meditation?
We have the Infinite Bliss Cushion (page 62) to make your sessions
more comfortable.

Do you want to test your abilities and try out some new techniques? Spruce up your winter wardrobe
with the Pineapple Stitch Cowl and Headband (page 56). We’ve also got some cosy garments to keep you
warm on those chilly evenings, such as the stunning Midnight Haze Cardigan (page 52). For
your little ones, have a go at filet crochet by hooking up a bright and cheerful Spring Day Baby Blanket
(page 72).

This month’s Mental Health UK luxury hook and stitch marker set is the perfect set to brighten
your day. Why not use your exclusive set to hook up some beautiful mandalas from this month’s
Mindful Mandalas pattern book? It's been designed for crocheters of all levels! Be sure to
share your Crochet Now projects with us via email or online to show off your stunning makes!

Keep smiling!

Crocheted
with love
Do you remember when we asked readers to submit
crocheted Christmas puddings? These cheery items were
passed on to the fabulous team at The Together Trust who
got back in touch to pass on this message to all the lovely
generous crafters who donated: “We wanted to thank you for
the article you wrote asking your readers to donate Christmas
puddings. Your readers sent in a huge 169 of them and 65 of
them were kind enough to fill them with chocolate oranges.
We are overwhelmed with this selfless gesture and we cannot
thank you enough for your support. These have now all been
distributed to the care leavers and young people we support.”

SHOP OF THE MONTH
Take a look at the local shop
that’s turning heads this month!
What is your shop called? Is there
a story behind the name?
G Grace & Son Ltd – it’s the family
name. The shop opened in 1891 and
has been serving the town since 1750.

Where is your shop and what is

the neighbourhood like?
The shop is in Tring, Hertfordshire,
which is a beautiful rural location in
the Chiltern Hills.

Who works at your shop?

There is a team of five who work at the shop.

What makes your shop special?

We are the oldest shop in Tring, still run by the same family, ninth
generation now. We are unique and quirky, we sell everything
from wool to car mats!

What are your most popular yarns?

The King Cole 50g Big Value balls are very popular with the local
yarn-bombing group, but we regularly change our stock to keep
everything fresh and new.

Do you run a virtual group, or do you have plans to run a

group once allowed?
We plan to hold regular sessions once we are released from
COVID-19 restrictions!

What is your favourite piece of knitting and/or

crochet advice?
One-handed casting on is easier and gives you a nice neat edging!

6 EXCLUSIVE PATTERNS TO TRY TONIGHT

2 | www.crochetnow.co.uk
Hello
and welcome to your exclusive mandala
collection from Mental Health UK!
At Crochet Now, we truly believe that creativity is one of
the best ways of bringing a little joy into our daily lives.
Particularly in recent years, the world has seemed a little
darker at times, but through this, we have seen incredible
resilience in the forms of creative expression. Many of us
have felt encouraged to find new and interesting ways of
adding a splash of colour to our lives.

Mandala comes from the Sanskrit for ‘circle’ or ’completion’, and it is believed that through
mandalas, we are able to explore our own inner self. These beautiful mandalas have been
associated with meditation for a long time, and are thought to have a positive impact on mental
health by providing a sense of balance, building patience and constancy. Our talented designers
have created a range of mandala patterns that you can use to unwind or simply find pleasure in. So,
get a cup of your favourite coffee or tea, snuggle up and lose yourself in the colours and textures of
your mandalas!

Not only have you got all of these patterns to lift your spirits, but I hope you will also enjoy trying out
your brand-new Mental Health UK crochet hook and stitch marker set, exclusively yours with issue
78 of Crochet Now!

Keep smiling!
