COURSE GUIDELINES
Phys105 General Physics I (Semester: 20243)

1 Introduction, Measurement, Estimating (Assigned as a self-study chapter). -
GRADING: Final grades will be evaluated through three criteria,
● 1st Mid-Term (25%) will cover chapters 1-5. It will be held on July 26, 2024,1800-19:30. ● 2nd Mid-Term (25%) will cover chapters 6-9. It will be held on August 09, 2024,1800-19:30. ● Final Exam (40%) will cover all the chapters. It will be held on August 26,2024,18:00- 19:30 ● Make-up exam (see Make-up Exam Regulations): September 2nd, 2024 at 10:00 ● Laboratory Grade (10%) EXAMS: Examinations will be held face-to-face. No online exam will be offered or made available to an individual student or a group of students upon demand. It is mandatory to take at least one midterm exam to take the final exam. You can take the MAKE-UP EXAM only once and If you have a justified valid excuse (see the "Make-up Exam Regulations" on ODTUClass). ATTENDANCE: Students learn better if they attend the lectures regularly but, class attendance is an individual student responsibility. Therefore, this summer term attendance is not compulsory like the preceding fall term. LABORATORY: laboratory work is compulsory to pass the course. The students must do ALL experiments and the average of all experiments must be 50 or greater. Missing even one experiment or an average grade less than 50 will result in NA grade. Repeat students who have successfully completed the laboratories before (receiving a grade of 50 or above) are not required to attend laboratory courses unless they have withdrawn from the course in that semester. Their grades will be automatically used as the laboratory grades of this semester. It is students' responsibility to keep their email addresses operative at all times. Students must check their e-mail addresses regularly in order to follow the announcements.
