The candidates who have applied for the recruitment to Group B & Group C posts in response

to the above mentioned advertisements are hereby informed about the Scheme of Examination and

Syllabus. The Examination will be conducted in Stage 1 and Stage 2. The level of

difficulty of the papers shall be different for Group B & C posts. The details of the Scheme

and Syllabus of the Examinations for the different posts are given in ANNEXURE-I

Note:
1. The question paper would be bilingual except language paper (English and Hindi) and the applicant will have the option
to respond in either of the languages.The questions will be of the level of degree/diploma/examination; which is
prescribed as the minimum eligibility for the respective post. The minimum qualifying marks to be secured in Stage 1
Examination shall be 40%. The answer scripts of the candidates for the descriptive test shall be evaluated only in respect
of those candidates who secure the minimum qualifying marks in Stage 1 Examination. The candidates who secure
50% marks in Stage 2 Examination shall be called for the skill test, wherever applicable.
2. The marks allocated for the skill test, wherever applicable, shall be 50 and the minimum qualifying marks in the skill
test shall be 25. The merit list of the candidates shall be drawn based on the performance in Stage 1 Examination
(Objective Type Test) and Stage 2 Examination (Descriptive test) subject to qualifying the skill test, wherever
applicable.
3. The PwBD candidates in the category of blindness, locomotor disability (both arms affected-BA) and cerebral palsy
are allowed Compensatory Time of twenty minutes per hour of the examination.
(B) Syllabus: The questions will be of the level of degree/diploma/examination

Stage-1 Examination

i. General Awareness: Questions will be designed to test the ability of the candidate’s
General Awareness of the environment and its relevance to the society. The questions
will also be designed to test knowledge of the current events and of such matters of
everyday observation as may be expected of an educated person. The test will include
questions relating to India and her neighbouring countries, especially pertaining to
History, Indian Polity & Constitution, Art & Culture, Geography, Economics, General
Policy, Science & Scientific Research, National/International
Organizations/Institutions, events etc.

ii. Reasoning & General Intelligence: The syllabus of General Intelligence includes
questions of both verbal and non-verbal types. Test may include questions on analogies,
similarities, differences, space visualization, problem solving, analysis, judgment,
decision making, visual memory, discrimination, observation, relationship, concepts,
arithmetical reasoning, verbal and figure classification, arithmetical number series etc.

iii. Mathematical Abilities: The test of Arithmetical and Numerical Ability will cover
Number System including questions on Simplification, Decimals, Fractions, L.C.M.,
H.C.F., Ratio & Proportion, Percentage, Average, Profit & Loss, Discount, Simple &
Compound Interest, Mensuration, Time & Work, Time & Distance, Tables & Graphs,
etc.

iv. Computer Knowledge: Fundamentals of Computer, Hardware & Software, Input and
Output devices, M.S. Word, M.S. Excel and Power Point Presentation, Email & Internet.

v. Hindi or English Knowledge: In addition to the testing of candidate’s understanding


of the English or Hindi Languages, its Vocabulary, Grammar, Sentence Structure,
Synonyms, Antonyms, and its correct usage etc. would also be tested.

Stage – 2 Examination
Section-I
i. Paragraph writing on a given topic in 300 words.
ii. Read the given passage and answer the question based on it.
iii. Noting & drafting in official process.
iv. Drafting of official letters.
v. Translation Skill.
Section-II
The questions will be designed to test the ability of the candidate’s knowledge on the following
subjects: Basic knowledge pertaining to functional, procedural aspect of the work profile of the post
concerned. Situation test analysis, where the candidate’s reaction would be sought on a given situation test
case. Building Materials, Surveying, Soil Mechanics, Hydraulics, Environmental, Structural engineering,
Estimation, Costing and Valuation, Concrete technology, RCC Designs, Transportation Engg, Environmental
Engg, Contract Management/quality control/project management, safety management, knowledge of
CADalong with software etc., FRSR, GFR, GeM, Establishment, GoI Rules.

will also be designed to test knowledge of the current events and of such matters of
everyday observation as may be expected of an educated person. The test will include
questions relating to India and her neighboring countries, especially pertaining to
History, Indian Polity & Constitution, Art & Culture, Geography, Economics, General
Policy, Science & Scientific Research, National/International
Organizations/Institutions, events etc.

ii. Reasoning & General Intelligence: The syllabus of General Intelligence includes
questions of both verbal and non-verbal types. Test may include questions on analogies,
similarities, differences, space visualization, problem solving, analysis, judgment,
decision making, visual memory, discrimination, observation, relationship, concepts,
arithmetical reasoning, verbal and figure classification, arithmetical number series etc.

iii. Mathematical Abilities: The test of Arithmetical and Numerical Ability will cover
Number System including questions on Simplification, Decimals, Fractions, L.C.M.,
H.C.F., Ratio & Proportion, Percentage, Average, Profit & Loss, Discount, Simple &
Compound Interest, Mensuration, Time & Work, Time & Distance, Tables & Graphs,
etc.

iv. Hindi or English Knowledge: In addition to the testing of candidate’s understanding


of the English or Hindi Languages, its Vocabulary, Grammar, Sentence Structure,
Synonyms, Antonyms, and its correct usage etc. would also be tested.

v. Questions pertaining to specific area of the post concerned: The questions will
pertain to the specific area/skill of the post concerned.

Stage – 2 Examination
Section-I
i. Paragraph writing on a given topic in 300 words.
ii. Read the given passage and answer the question based on it.
iii. Reaction in different situations in the Library.
iv. General Hindi.
v. General English.

ii. General arrangements of books and library practice.
iii. Maintenance of books, safety precautions, use of Library,
